This year, I did DECA with one of my best friends, Grace Bolinsky. We fundraised for Mr. Lacoste, who was our former principal in elementary school after he was paralyzed last summer. We wanted to give back to him as he was a wonderful influence in both of our lives. Grace and I spent countless hours into fundraising and setting up fundraisers in order to help Mr. Lacoste. We both were extremely determined and were not expecting the amount of success we had. We raised almost $3,000 and also qualified for Nationals that would have taken place in Nashville, Tennessee. It has been my passion since middle school and is something that I want to continue on into college. This junior year, I broke the school record in the mile during my Indoor Track Season. I learned that staying positive is extremely important for success. After hearing that my spring track season has been postponed or potentially cancelled due to Covid-19, this will not stop me from achieving my dreams. I know that I will stay positive and keep setting new goals each and every day to become a better person and runner. But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain

a friend that's always there.

During this time in quarantine, I have learned that friends are always there even in tough times like this. We all have someone we can lean on and I will carry on my friendships forever because my friends have shaped me to become the person that I am today.
