It is sad to learn that subsequent kings to King David who were not wholly true to the Lord were either destroyed or forsaken by Him.]]> 2021-09-17 14:08:54 UTC https://padlet.com/szuetheng/q3dya2d6baquq20z/wish/1748789942 Sep 2008 yoketeong https://padlet.com/szuetheng/q3dya2d6baquq20z/wish/1760607709 Reuben had a very bad stomachache after coming back from a party.  He vomited a few palm sized black jelly like substances.  We had no idea what it was until I tried to clean up - the edges of the kitchen towel were red.  They were huge huge blood clots!

Called our pediatric church mate who advised us to observe him for the night at home.  Next day, Reuben still had bad tummy ache and we were advised to send him to KKH.  The doctor administered immediate blood transfusion (hemoglobin count was low) and ran scans/tests to find out the cause but all came out negative.  They discharged us after a few days none wiser on what has happened.  There really was not much the doctors could tell us besides the fact that this level of internal bleeding is uncommon in young kids and they could not find any signs of open or healed ulcers/lesions/wounds.  Nothing new came up in follow-up visit and case was closed.

As a parent, this was a really trying time.  We were very thankful to have the prayer support from CG and larger CMC community.  

I penned the following in 2008:
"... despite huge advances in medical science and some VERY intelligent and hardworking people, it is hard to understand what EXACTLY is going on in our bodies.   Our walk with Christ is exactly that - a WALK, a journey.  We are human and He is God, He knows exactly what is going on and where it will all lead to, but we don't.  As humans and especially as parents, we want to know root cause of problems so we can deal with it and get on with our lives.  The reality is that, through earthly means, we really don't know too many things FOR SURE (even when it comes to our bodies), but what we do know FOR SURE is probably the most important: that we have a Father and Lord who is GOD. 
Please join us in agreeing in prayer and praising Him for healing Reuben.  We believe that God is true to His Word and that He has brought His perfect and complete healing on Reuben, and we trust that the medical reports/evaluation to come will simply confirm what we already know through His awesome grace."

You know the rest of the testimony.  Reuben is 21 this year, combat fit, and reading medicine in NUS.  Praise God!

We did that in 2018 when we found CMC.

More recently, we have also been trying to be more grounded in our faith and have contemplated joining a CG. We spoke about it, prayed about it and lo and behold, CG had several sermons about CGs. We felt that it was God's way of nudging us forward. One thing led to the next, and we found our way to Life With Christ :) 

A small miracle, perhaps, but a miracle nonetheless.

I was working in London, mum came for a long visit, so I switched to a Cantonese service so that my mother can understand. She attended church services for 3.5 months, and heard God's word which she said made sense . Eventually she returned to SG, attended Chinese Alpha and accepted Christ. The miracle is: never would I hv thought that her journey to accept Christ would start in London, since she does not speak English. There was not much Chinese reading material, except the Chinese Bible which I bought for her. In Singapore there would hv been too many distractions. In London, the only thing she can read was the Bible. Right time, right place, God's timing is perfect . Suddenly feel the closeness, warmth and love of God.  Beautiful and familiar hymns being sung. Was not attending church then. Experience that i can never forget.

Suppose to have class but forgot about it. God led the teacher to call me 1.5hrs before class. She never, ever text me so early before class but that day she did. I rushed home and had enough time to calm down, prep and have our session.
What happened can only be a miracle and because of Him. Due to some disagreement, he was asked to leave immediately. In a gist, we went to the MP FSC  and before we met the social worker, we prayed. During the meeting, the social worker informed us that we might need to wait 2-3 days or even up to 2 weeks depending on availability of shelters. After the meeting, I suggested to 'A' to go get dinner as it was 5-ish at the time. Prayed for the Lord to open doors. While waiting for his tabao, we received an update from the social worker about a possible spot for 2-3 nights interim. Prayed thanksgiving. After that call, we went back to the flat to collect and pack his stuff. While packing, the social worker called to say "It's a Miracle! We found a long term shelter, and it is nearby! This is unbelievable, that something like this come up within a couple of hours!" I fell to my knees and praised God for His provision. By 7pm, we arrived at the shelter and 'A' was checked in. The shelter was also near his workplace. Praise God for leading and showing us the way.
