Not all people who have recently been arriving in Europe from around the world are refugees, some are social or economic migrants come for work or education in Europe, or simply joining their families or relatives who have lived in Europe for a long time. The contrasting refugees are fleeing war or some other disaster that does not allow them to return home. From here the need to define the cultural diversity of a heterogeneous class.

My name is Gian Luca Cossari, I teach mathematics in high schools. I am 45 years old and from Turin. My experience as a teacher is 20 years. My class consists of 25 students and I deal with boys aged between 16 and 18 years.
I love my job and the relationship with my students for a meaningful learning. I like the innovative tools that I also use in my lectures:
Lim, Blogs, school work platforms where I teach, personal website for sharing materials for students on the lectures. I wish you all a Good Job in the research, increasingly, academic achievement that is the basis for a tutor.
My class is eterogeneous, formed by different migrants of various nationalities: political refugees, profugni and those who flee from war or simply economic migrants.
This heterogeneity develops confrontation and crescvità within the group and establishes a new way of living in a democratic way.

People migrate for many different reasons. These reasons can be classified as economic, social, political or environmental:
economic migration - moving to find work or follow a particular career path
social migration - moving somewhere for a better quality of life or to be closer to family or friends
political migration - moving to escape political persecution or war
environmental causes of migration include natural disasters such as flooding
Some people choose to migrate, eg someone who moves to another country to enhance their career opportunities. Some people are forced to migrate, eg someone who moves due to war or famine.
A refugee is someone who has left their home and does not have a new home to go to. Often refugees do not carry many possessions with them and do not have a clear idea of where they may finally settle.

So, I am the imingrant as well. But, for them I am the peson who is like "roll model" that they can succeed as well in this country. I am stating disscusion on this subject with my own excampler and then I am starting to ask or invite them to talk about their reasons: why they left their own country? It is very sencitive topic and I have to be very carefuly when we start to talk about this.

The problem with Xenophobia is everywhere unfortunately. But I try to explain to my students that in Planet Earth, in Italy we have a space and love for all. I try to explain the fact that we are different is wealth for a country, and we can learn from each other. But they feel scared at first. The best way is to learn the language and try to learn something about cultures. The incident Culture is the biggest problem for them. That's why I try to show videos or read them a story of the Italian culture and to invite them to present their country and culture. That's why I started my project: To present their country - and every Friday my students (2 of them) have to write some country stuff, to come up with we cd with music and if possible with 2 dishes from their own country. I'm so proud and happy doing this.
