Jill Brennner, a skinny 5th grader. Desired to fit in with the popular girls, except Linda, the girl everyone bullies, starts to get closer to the popular girls,Wendy and Wendy's henchman,Caroline. Therefore, Jill started being very mean and bullying Linda. Then Wendy and Caroline left Jill for Linda and started bullying Jill calling her BB, Baby Brenner. In the end, they all do their own thing, Jill finds a new buddy to hangout with, Wendy becomes friends with Laurie while Caroline hangs around Donna.

Tracy's Halloween costume-Mr. Machinist ,the grumpy neighbor who snapped a photo of Jill and Tracy Halloween night for them to be identified through Tracy's costume.

(Blume 72) This quote is significant because it shows how degrading and mean they were. All because of the insecurities of others they rub it off on others.

One person in the story I relate to is Linda. I also struggle with bullies, most being about my appearance. Linda too struggles, as she becomes completely degraded to the point she wants to go on a diet just because of someones words. Though I don't relate fully to Linda, I too have been in her shoes.

Wendy was a bully. If you didn't become her friend she would destroy you. So, of course, Jill had to be her friend. Until Tracy knocked sense into her, telling her she's definitely scared of her. Jill knew it and had to take action. During recess they played courtroom between Jill and Linda. Wendy starts being controlling and bossy she was talking about how this is her courtroom and she's judge. Jill remembered what Tracy had said and realized she was right, so she stepped up. She unlocked Linda from the closet and ended up getting Linda to have a lawyer. Wendy didn't like that so she retaliates and starts getting everyone to bully Jill, calling her names like BB, baby Brenner.

The lesson learned is you reap what you sow. Jill bullied Linda and ended up nowhere except for being bullied back.

Jill struggled with fitting in. knowing she is a bad person, Jill ends up dismissing Wendy for something just because she didn't want to be yelled at. At the beginning of the book she even states how everyone had to be Wendy's friend or she will destroy you. She knew that if she were to fight back she would be "destroyed".
