I would say that my teachers gave a lot of opportunities for my parents to be involved in my early education by allowing them to be involved in school activities. For example, my mom was able to sign up for field trips to take with my class, my school also offered my parents afterschool activities that were connected to the school as well as my teachers. My family was also always invited to presentations, performances, award ceremonies, lunches, and carnivals that were held by my teachers and school.

My experience with my teachers and family in my early education was positive. I lived very close to my school so everyday my mom would walk with me and my siblings to school and have a chance to interact and connect with my teachers occasionally, in person. My mom also volunteered inside my classroom by grading papers, or helping with activities.
One learning objective for this class that I would like to learn is collaborating with people on the learning stories project. I am excited to see what growth will come out of that project.

My experience with my teachers including my family, mostly my mom in my education was very active. They asked my mom to come to the classroom and help with making homework packets, or when we had a Spanish session they would ask my mom to come and teach us something. I found this to be positive because my mom knew what I was learning and doing so her in her own way would help me if I was confused or lost. And I thought it was positive because I got to spend more time with my mom as well.

One learning objective I would like to learn is how to include parents who work during the day into the education of children or what are some ways to include these parents.

My elementary years my teachers engaged opportunities for my parents to be involved in school activities and projects.

Hi Everyone,
I accidently started a post earlier but can't delete that one now. My experiences with my teachers and family in Early Education was positive. My mother volunteered in my classrooms and neighboring classrooms as well and was very involved. As a result my mom was often involved in field trips, activities, and school projects. She was often one of the Chaperones for three day fieldtrips and would help students in the classroom any way that she could. One learning objective I would like to come away from this class having learned is how to help encourage and incorporate family involvement of parents who work when there children are in school.

My experience in early education was not that great. I had a lot of family problems going on which had an effect on my education. I missed a lot of school and my teachers were there for me but also had a whole classroom of students to also help. I ended falling in love with education later in life. One thing I do remember that was positive was my Dad going with me on all the field trips we had. This was great for me to have him there as I had a great deal of separation anxiety when it came to leaving my family and going into the classroom.

Hello everyone,
I just have some flashbacks from kinder at age 5, I did not attend preschool. I am 46 and back in the days that was the age to start school. I remember good things from my elementary school. My brother is older than me, so in the playground I felt protected. My mom was always collaborating somehow in the classrooms, events or field trips.
I always liked to be involve in activities and had many friends. I remember sometimes i would volunteer to organize games. I don't remember my teachers name and I do not recall any bad feeling. I just had hard time reading aloud, this was very intimidated for me. Other than that, my experience in school was very positive. I feel supported by my family.
For this class I would point out as one objective, I would like to learn the best way I can serve families from different backgrounds.

Hi all,
I was homeschooled for my entire education, except for a year or so of preschool, this means that my early education was primarily with my family directly and I don't recall very much of my preschool experience and I have no memory of my teacher involving my family. My homeschool experience however meant that in early childhood, my parent's were my teachers. I think a teacher would have helped to balance the expectations my parents enforced or helped to guide them in helping me. My mom and I especially didn't get along well in my early education, and it would have been beneficial I think to have a third party to support my education.
My learning objective for this class is to build a better understanding of meaningful and appropriate ways to communicate and collaborate with families.

Hi everyone! I did not attend preschool but instead I would go to a woman's house who ran a little childcare center from her house. My mom was a teacher when I was in preschool so she felt like that was a good place for me to go while she was teaching. I do not remember much from this age but I do remember more from Kindergarten and I loved it. I was in public school until fourth grade when I was then homeschooled. My mom had always told me that she did not care for my second grade teacher and I could not understand why until a few days ago when she told me that my teacher would talk to my mom on the side and said that she just didn't "get me" and that I was "just difficult a one". I was in second grade so my mom was very upset about this because I was an artistic and dreamy child and she struggled to capture my attention. My mom had a meeting with the principle and she demanded that she would choose my third grade teacher. The principle allowed this and then in fourth grade I was homeschooled. I guess this could be an example of poor communication between a parent and teacher. My second grade teacher definitely did not take a strength-based approach when addressing my listening skills with my mom. My learning objective for this class is to learn more strategies for addressing difficulties or concerns with families because I know that would be a hard conversation to have.

Hello Everyone,
I would say that I had a very positive early education experience. I can still remember some things when I was in preschool and how my teacher, Mrs. Habayashi was just the sweetest person every. She was very encouraging helpful. My parents were very involved in my education they would either volunteer to help in my classrooms or go with us on field trips. I remember going into my 1st grade class and seeing my mom in there with my teacher and telling me that she was going to be there for the day to help out. It was a great feeling whenever I saw my parents being in my classes.

In my early education I had the best time! I remember a lot of the fun activities I did in preschool and actually would love to use a lot of them when I'm a teacher. Even after my first years of education I still kept in touch with my teachers. I was able to be in their weddings and even talk to them in high school. My preschool teachers really left the best impact on my life. Because of the impact they left on me, it's something I want to do for other children. I really had the best experience with my teachers and friends. I'm actually still really close with a lot of my friends from school.

My early education experience with my teachers was very positive and my mom was a regular volunteer through out all of elementary school for myself and all of my brothers as well. I remember having family events often like Doughnuts with Dads (my mom would bring me, though, because my dad had to work, but sometimes my grandpa tagged along!), as well as ice cream socials where my whole family would attend and we could meet and greet with current and former teachers. I had the best experience and my moms involvement made it that much more special, and I think in another life she would've been a great teacher! This experience is a big aspect of why I am going into early education teaching.

My experience with my early childhood education teacher was positive. What I could recall was that I had an amazing and supportive teacher. I remember on my kindergarten year walking as a new student in the classroom crying because I was no longer going to see my mom. I remember everyone staring at me because I was crying and then my teacher comes over and lets me borrow a bumble bee. That bumble bee is only lended to those whom are well behave. Once she lended me the bumble bee I felt comfort and I knew that every thing was going toe okay and by the end of the day I would see my mom again.
My experience with my family was not as positive because my family would work early morning and would sometimes come home late night. But when conferences where needed in school they would always attend. Not having my parents take me to school or being able to see them once I would woke up was not easy because it felt as I would never see them. Since sometimes they would come home very late when myself and my sibling would be asleep.

I remember my teachers being supportive because I was still learning how to speak English and my words weren’t quite there yet.

I had a hard time with my teachers and my parents in my early education. I was lucky enough to go to preschool for two years and was able to start learning English but was still rusty. I had my friends who also spoke Spanish and my mother there as an aid to help me get to where I needed to go. Once getting into kindergarten it was a shock to only have to speak English. According to my mother I was frequently described as shy and quiet from my teacher. Once moving to first an second they began to blame my mother and father for teaching me Spanish first and that I was getting confused and they should encourage me to speak English.
