         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are three sections of the small intestine:  duodenum, jejunum, and ileum (in order). <br>The small intestine is protected from stomach acids by secretin, because prosecretin is converted into secretin and absorbed into the bloodstream and the pancreas. This absorption triggers the pancreas to release HCO3-, which neutralizes the acid. </div>]]></description>
