John Bender is Dynamic

John is considered a dynamic character throughout the film because he shows hostility towards other characters and Claire Standish more particularly. In the scene of the image above he is asking her about what she has for lunch and trying to be annoying to everyone around him. Even though later in the movie he opens up about his home life, he still goes back to being mean to everyone else.

Andrew Clark is Static

Andrew is considered a static character because throughout the film he maintains his status as a high school jock and top athlete. Although he does struggle with confronting his complexities of his own identity beyond being a top high school athlete. Later in the film he opens up about his home struggles and the immense pressure he feels from his father who wants him to be a D1 wrestler and that is what is happening in the image above.

Brian Johnson is Static

Brian is considered a static character throughout the film because he keeps up with the nerdy persona that is portrayed throughout the film. He always tried to add to the conversations with some sort of smart remark or something random. He always talked about his grades and how he needed to keep his parents happy. Near the end of the film he opened up about contemplating suicide when he got an F on a project and that he'd only end with a B and his parents would be upset. Above is a picture from when he said that. At the time of the image he was laughing at what others were saying but he was sitting there explaining to his peers.

Claire Standish is Dynamic

Claire is considered a dynamic character because in the beginning of the film she was seen as this snobby rich girl who thought she was better than everyone else. In addition she was exhibiting superficial behaviors towards bender specifically and was trying to stay away from his troublesome ways. More throughout the story she starts to open up about her personal struggles especially those with her parents. By the end of the movie as you can see in the image, she was able to break free of her societal norms and social status showing some growth.

Allison Reynolds is Dynamic

Allison is considered dynamic because in the beginning of the film she is very quiet and mysterious whereas towards the end of the film she's a more open and expressed individual. Throughout the film as character's speak up and talk about their own issues she decides to indulge in the conversation as well explaining how she feels invisible and overlooked by her parents. In the image above she is seen with a completely new look as she is actually looking at Andrew who she has developed a mutual connection with.

Vice Principal Vernon is Static

Vernon is considered a static character because he doesn't really change at all through the film. Instead, he serves as a consistent representation of authority and the institutional constraints the students are rebelling against. He kind of disappears towards the end of the film but in the image above he's yelling at bender and trying to get him to fight him.
