Some of my feelings: Zhi Lin is famous for painting images about the great culture revolution. His paintings are remarkable, it has loads of details we could discover. His lines are smooth and dense. Actually in my opinion the best part of his paintings are not lines but the colors he used to vary different object. Looks closely you will find there are spaces between each parts which differ them with others. Also he add something new into his painting - Chinese characters. His lines are special, some of his lines are separate like the trees and crops but some of objects like rocks and small mountains are connected using one line. The painting below is called hair. Seems like the painting is consist by hair! However this is a painting. Her lines are connected to each other they are smooth and seems like the painting is finished in one lines. The painting is confusing because it's so abstract, however if we know the topic it would be easier for us to connect the messiness to hair.

The painting is about a short hair woman which to me looks like chimpanzee and her can't.

It used the figures to fulfill her backdrop such as the cat and sticks, also the author used negative space.

Answer: When I was small, my father gave me black and white comic books which shows the Chinese history. This printing brings back my memories and makes me remember the comic books.
2)Theme: What is it about?What is happening?
This print shows a scene of Ancient Chinese story, it has real historical background but add the same time people add dramatic elements in the story. The print is separated in to two parts, the second one happens in 3 empire ages which is about 2000 years ago, when an emperor from Shu, married the princess in another country Wu. The title of the print is 龙凤配, dragon and Phenix.
3)Form: What kind of surface you see? Is there texture?
I could see imply texture in the print, such as the pattern on the clothes of the man and woman, also the rigid lines which draw the furniture and the buildings. I think this is like a contour drawing.
4)Context: Can you relate it to other arts of it's time, music, literature, film?

I won't really say that this girl is myself, but it is something that I created from my english name "flower".
The colors I choose:
For skin, I mainly used brown mix white, one reason is because I think this is more relates to the earth color which kind of represents soil.
For flowers, I used a lot of warm colors because I tried to build a contrast between the cold sky and the warm flowers. However I also used purple which is cold color for flowers because I think this corresponds to the blue sky.
Flower has been my name for so long, more than 10 years. Although people thought it's strange, I still keep it because I thought it would be me. As for this painting, this is the imaginary flower for me. Flower for me is a gentle, warm and peaceful woman. Thus I just paint this painting completely follow my heart.

In general the painting looks like one side is black and the other side is white. This is because I want to express two different feelings on my painting, because if you look closely, you will find out that on the white side of the painting, eyes are quit peaceful and with happy or normal feelings. On the dark side the eyes are more sharp and fearful. I tried to build a obvious contract between colors and content.
As for why, we are say eyes is the window for hearts, in my opinion eyes some how represents ourself. We use eyes to see, to discover, more importantly we use eyes to express our thoughts and feelings. - CONTROVERSIAL, For me, Kites are a toy but also a symbol for free and fly on one side, on the other side, it represents chained.
- CREATIVE: because just make sure the structure is right, then pretty much you can do everything about it, you an draw, you can glue, you can cut and etc.
- BIRDS: kites for me it relates to birds because they all fly up in the sky and they all can be chained and restrained.
- Path to Heaven. When I fly a kit L always thought kite contains some wishes and words I want to say and express then I will deliver it up the sky.
List of artists
1) Tetsuya Kishida. A Japanese artist, his kites are huge, as tall as a strong man. Also his painting is really Japanese like.
2) 魏国秋 Guoqiu Wei, a famous Chinese kite artist. He had grown up in a traditional kite making family. All his art work is really Chinese like.
