The sessions are planned with young people and there’s something for everyone to take part in! Through generous funding we have been able to offer exciting opportunities such as residentials, a trip to London to take part in the BSL Act rally, climbing, sailing and so many wonderful adventures! We are passionate about positive role models and the group has had visits from Punk Chef and Yvonne Cobb!

We deliver a youth group for 8-18 year olds, a 19-25 young adult offer, a youth council, Deaf awareness workshops and we also offer opportunities to volunteer with the group. The sessions are delivered by specialist youth workers who provide BSL communication to ensure inclusivity.

We work with young people through some of the changes and issues they may be facing. Our positive, realistic approach focuses on ability rather than disability.

We hold a range of events that are aimed at our younger community, including bushcraft and gaming days. These are open to anyone with neuromuscular conditions, as well as their families, friends and carers.

We can also work with your school, college and health professionals to contribute to your Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).

Sensory SPACE will be on Wednesdays from 1pm-3pm and will be a quieter session for children that have complex medical needs and may require hoisting and floor-based activities.

Activity Club will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3.30pm-5.30pm. More information and bookings can be found on our website.

A twice-weekly Active-play session, providing a progressively challenging environment - with a range of soft play shapes, spung floor, beams, bars and ball pit. 

Wingate Gymnastics Club

The Wingate Centre has a long history of recreational gymnastics and trampolining and has been associated with gymnastics for 37 years. We are confident that you will have fun participating in our classes, making new friends and learning new skills, while working towards awards and badges, as well as participating in our in-house competitions. 

Well-equipped with bubble tubes, projectors and star carpet; light tunnel, Music Squares, a fibre-optic sensory ‘raincloud’, (which sparkles with an ever-changing spectrum of coloured lights), plus toys, books and games. The sensory room is accessible to wheelchairs and equipped with hoists.

Heswall Camp is a week long holiday residential for disabled children aged 9-16. We will have great days filled with activities and this year's theme is 'Wirral going on a summer holiday'. We will be kayaking, climbing, shooting and we are looking into an accessible indoor skiing adventure! All the care is provided by trained volunteers who go through Safer Recruitment and Enhanced DBS checks. Children with a wide range of disabilities are welcome to join us, subject to an application process, detailed care plans and MAR charts so our volunteers are well equipped to provide great care. We will copy the care which works well for the child in other settings or provided by parents and carers.

Our qualified, skilled and experienced

Community Engagement Team deliver fully accessible community based social activities for disabled young people aged 5-17 through our Buzz Youth Group and for disabled adults aged 18+ through our Good Company Social Group and Tarporley Social Circle. Our groups are underpinned by the social model of disability and delivered using a person-centred approach. We provide members of our group with opportunities to develop life skills, build new friendships, reduce social isolation and take part in all activities independent of their parent/carer.

Activity sessions are open to registered Buzz Group members only. The fee for each activity session is required in advance and once you have confirmed which dates you/your child wishes to attend, we will let you know the date payment is required. We do not require any parent/carer to attend with their child as our qualified and experience staff team will provide 1-1 support, assist with personal care and support with administration of any medication required during an activity session.

The week will be jam-packed with football, sports games, arts and crafts, and other fun activities. This holiday camp is open to SEND children aged 5-12 years from Cheshire and surrounding schools. 

Dates: Monday 27 July, Tuesday 28 July, Wednesday 29 July, Thursday 30 July (please note you do not need to attend all dates)
Drop off: 8:30am – 8:50am
Pick-up: 3pm – 3:30pm

Parents have the option to stay all day, but they must inform staff on the booking form

Cost: £14 per child per day or £50 per child for 4 days
