9-9:30am
Teacher goes over the day of the week, Wednesday March 10th and tells the children tomorrow is Thursday and the day after is Friday.
She asks "Who is present?" and shows each child's picture of who is here today.
She puts a good morning song, "Mr. Rooster" and puts a new song called, "I like to move it." Some children move to the music.
Teacher goes over the theme of the week which is "Things that move," transportation and reminds them how yesterday they talked about the body parts that move when we move.
She goes over the word of the week which is "Adventure." She says the word slowly to show the word in 3 syllables and how going hiking is an adventure.
She shows a globe to explain how other travel to other parts of the world. She asks, "How do you move around the city?" and shows different transportation vehicles and asks, "Do you take this to go to the store?" and children would reply by nodding yes or shaking their head no.
Then she tells them in order to travel, they need to pack a suitcase. She asks them, "What do you pack? What would you pack in your suitcase?"
After, she reminds them to wear masks and wash hands all day long, before they eat and after they use the restroom.
She tells everyone that we are going to do the "Balloon" breathing strategy and everyone participated.
The morning message to the children was, "We pack a suitcase." She tells the children to always write from left to right, to start with a capital and end with a period.
The letter of the day is the letter "Yy." Y for yoyo, you and yacht. She has children take out their markers out to write the letter Yy and reviews going over the letter they did yesterday and the day before which is Gg and Vv.
Then, tells them today and every Wednesday is share day. Children are able to share something they want on Wednesdays. One child shares he is eating strawberries. Another child shares a toy blow dryer and shows how to use it for her hair.
Maritza starts the Transportation activity with the children by asking them to draw any type of transportation they would like on a piece of paper. I helped show different types of transportation vehicles by showing a physical prop/toy with a card that shows the word in English and Spanish. She explains the different types of transportation there is and asks which one do they use to go to the store or travel. Then Maritza asks show me your pictures of your drawings and one child shows his and we ask, what kind of transportation is it and he says, "A car." We acknowledge the detail he created by making his car. Another child shows a house and a truck next to the house and explains they are going to the store in a truck. Maritza then introduces the book she is going to read, "The Engine That Could," by Watty Piper. She reads the book clear and loud for children to hear and asks children, "Do you think this train will help?" Children listen to her reading by looking at the screen. After the story Maritza explains even though the smaller train was not as strong as the other trains, he did not give up and helped his friends go over the hill to deliver toys to the children. Then said goodbye to the children.

Talked to our mentor after the session and she was letting us know what days we can do our live lesson plan. We picked the day, March 31st on Wednesday at the usual time. She was first not sure what the theme or lesson would be for that week and decided to check for us while we were on with her. She showed us how the frog street lesson plans looked like and what she had to base her lessons and routine each day for classes. The week we do our live, it will be about pigs. She had gave us some ideas and decided to go with the 3 Little Pigs for our story. We decided on an activity where children can create their own three houses they would build to keep the Big Bad Wolf away. So, children will be learning about structures and the materials used in order to build them.

9-9:30am
Good morning greeting.
Teacher goes over what day it is which is Wednesday March 31st and mentions it is the last day of March and the day after is the first day of April. A new month.
Good morning song - Mr. Rooster.
One of children participates by singing along with the song. Teacher plays another song after that helps them get their wiggles out. Some of the children were seen participating by throwing both hands in the air and jumping up and down when the song says.
The word of the week is agriculture and today they were going to learn about pigs. The teacher explains that pig starts with the letter P and reminds them that yesterday they learned about the letter F, f for farm.
The morning message was "Pig starts with the letter P."
The teacher asks the children to get their materials out (paper, markers, pencils) and practice writing the letters of the alphabet, A to Z. She told them to only write the capitals first. Some children showed their work of their letters from A to Z. Some of the children did both the capital and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
One child looked focus writing his letters. One child uses a black crayon tracing the letters his parent help make him. One child grips his crayon with a fist grip with his whole hand around the crayon to write.
After children asked to show their homework which was make a yellow chick and told them tomorrow they are going to make a cow with squares, rectangles and triangles.
After, she told the children that me or Maritza were going to do an activity with them and read a story. I took the lead on this one and did the shape activity with the children. We went over the shapes of the three houses from the story I was going to read, "The 3 Little Pigs." Children participated by telling which shapes they see and how many shapes one house has. I probably could have asked them more questions or had them tell me what shapes they see. After this activity, I began telling the story of the "3 Little Pigs." During the story, I asked children to participate by being the big bad wolf and blowing by taking a deep breath and blowing. I noticed some of the children were doing it with me. After the story, I asked which house was built first and which house was the strongest. One child said the house with sticks was the first one and I replied saying it was one of the houses that were built and that they were close but it was the house made out of straws. The same child answer the second question by saying, "The house with bricks," was the strongest. I felt the children were interested in the story and went along with me really well.
Then, the teacher told him they have one more day until spring break and said goodbye.
