Researching into media to do with knights and medieval themes i chose to examine the video game series dark souls which is one of my favourites and hits close to home with its influence over my work.

Ink monsters research

Researching into the use of ink i have discovered ink monster art whereby the artist will splash a dot of ink onto a paper and blow or pad it around, then looking into the spaces between the ink you can create a completely unique and un re-creatable piece.

these monsters can be as simple or complex as the artist wishes.

Researching into techniques to better my drawing abilities i found that there are many different ways to even shade a drawing let alone the structure and texture the one i am most fond of however is cell shading as i believe it makes a real pop with the coloure drawings

Where there are a ton of coloured shading techniques there is one main technique for black and white sketches however this single technique has many different layers and forms plenty of ways to do just one technique the more you layer it the darker it gets and also creates a different texture to them aswell.
