One family tradition I wish to keep is the visiting of relatives every weekend. Since we are unable to see them everyday, we would visit them every Sunday so that we get to catch up with one another. I would spend a lot of time chatting with my family and relatives, talking them about all sorts of different topics. These conversations would improve our relationships as we share our different lifestyles with each other every time we meet. I would always look forward to the next visit to my relative's house as I get to meet my cousins once again. Therefore, I wish to keep this family tradition as it brings us even closer.

HOOK: My mother always says that traditions make us who we are. Some instill values in us and some are seen as a waste of time. TRANSITION: These traditions are closely followed by our individual families and they become a daily, monthly or yearly routine for us. THESIS: There are some traditions I would like to keep for the future and some of which I am not fond of that I wish to get rid of.

One tradition I wish to change is our frequent consumption of meat. In our household , we eat meat practically almost everyday. I personally feel that this is something that should be changed as firstly , it is harmful to the environment as the process of producing meat may lead to the extinction of the animal species. Secondly , it cause a large emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere which causes global warming. Thirdly , consumption of meat allows easy trasmission of diseases.

However ,i usually eat with my family together too occassionally and this is one tradition i wish to change. eating with my family usually takes an excessive amount of time . This time could be better used to revise for my upcoming O levels . Another reason is because i habe lesser time to spend with my friends. since it is our graduating year so it is important that we appreciate the time we have left together. but the pressure my family puts on me to come home and eat dinner,is too much.

Traditions are what makes a family different from others. Some families bond daily while others bond once in a blue moon. There are some that we look forward to and some we dread going to.

To me, one tradition that I hold dear to my heart are reunion dinners during the Lunar New Year Festival. Due to our hectic schedules, my family hardly has the time to gather together and have a meal together as a family. But during the Lunar New Year festival, it is the time where families gather together and have reunion dinners together. This also helps to bring distant cousins whom I have not met in a while and that will increase the relationship amongst us. Reunion dinners also allow me to catch up with my cousins or my family members as we do not usually see each other.During the dinners, the heart to heart conversation we have together as a family also gives me a sense of belonging and that is something I truly enjoy. Thus, the main reason as to why I wish to keep the tradition the same is because of the nostalgic feeling it gives me when I meet my family and relatives.
