In October 2022, JFS became a permanent Reception & Placement (R&P) agency working in partnership with HIAS, the Global Jewish Organization for Refugees, making JFS the fourth resettlement agency in Colorado. HIAS is a nonprofit that provides vital services to refugees and asylum seekers while advocating for their fundamental rights so they can rebuild their lives. 

As a permanent R&P agency, JFS will serve hundreds of refugees from Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Syria, Sudan, Ukraine, and Latin America.

Our HIA home builds usually occur during the late spring through summer months and take approximately 3 months to complete.

Every quarter, we have more than 200 members who each commit to contribute $100 to whatever three charities are nominated and voted on by our members at a quarterly Zoom meeting. With three different non-profits selected each quarter, this organization, founded in June 2020, has already contributed over $138,000 to very worthwhile charities in the Denver/Boulder area. The non-profits receiving grants include several that provide assistance with children, seniors, food security, and emergency housing, all in the Denver/Boulder area.
