This song was made by Paul Whiteman. This song is more of just a laid back Jazz song used at one of Gatsby's parties. This song plays when Nick, Tom, and Daisy are talking about what Jay did to get so much money. Nobody really knows about Gatsby and they are trying to figure out more about him. The song also makes nick think about love and the possibility of Jay finding love. This song sets a calm mood in the story and is used just to give more information on Gatsby in a calm way.

When I Fall in Love was made by Celine Dion. This song really relates to Three O'clock in the Morning because it is also a more laid back slow pace song. It will set the same calm mood in the novel because of this and it really relates to what Nick was thinking at this point In the novel. One line from the song is "In a restless world like this is love is ended before it's began." Nick is thinking of love, trying to find love, and forgetting about love all at the same time and he is just left sitting there thinking.

Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars really gives the same feel as The Sheik of Araby. It is an energetic pop song used to excite and make them more energetic. It relates to The Sheik of Araby because it had that upbeat feel that can relate to finding and reminding people about love. The song says "Cause uptown funk gon' give it to you," this can represent Nick telling Jordan about Jay and Daisy dating. Another part of this song is it talks about uptown and has that busy city feel to it, and in the song in the story it is used while they are in the middle of New York City.

I Remember by Keyshia Cole is a song about reminiscing about an old lover. It gives the same feel of remembering and flashing back to an old better time like Beale Street Blues does. This song is a sad and slower song that is more of a soul type of song. One line from the song is "Thinking of all the times we shared." This is just like Jay he constantly thinks of all of the times he shared with Daisy. Even when he sees Daisy and they talk about the old times this is something Jay would say to her.

Wrote by Fats Waller The Sheik of Araby is an upbeat Jazz song used in the novel. It is used when Jordan and Nick are driving around New York City and Nick tells Jordan how Jay and Daisy used to date. The lines " At night when you're asleep, into your tent I'll creep," are used on pg. 83 when they are in the car. This sparked the conversation about Jay because it reminded Nick about Jay. This song starts to pick up the story and make it more upbeat and exciting mood, because information is being shared about other characters that shouldn't be shared.

Chris Barber wrote Beale Street Blues. This song is a romantic Jazz song used in the novel. It is used to talk about Jay and Daisy back in Kentucky. It gives a flashback about the beginning of their relationship and when they fell in love. One line from the song is "I'd rather be there than any place I know." This relates to Jay because he always says he wish he could go back to Kentucky with Daisy and have her love him again. It gives a sympathetic mood because you feel bad for Jay and the song also makes you fell more for him.

Music plays a huge role in this novel. Throughout the novel there are certain parts where Fitzgerald references different songs. These songs are not just used as some random song. The set the mood of that scene and give the reader a better understanding of the novel. The songs represent what is happening in that given part of the novel. Three of the main songs used in the novel are: Three O'clock in the Morning, The Sheik of Araby, and Beale Street Blues.
