I moved to Phoenix a year and a half ago from Iowa, where I was born and raised. I moved here because my sister has lived here for 7 years, and every time I would visit her, I dreaded returning home. I truly love it in Arizona - can't beat year-round sunshine. :)

I taught high school Spanish and coached 9th grade girls' basketball in Iowa for three years, and truly feel that education is my passion. I had a minor in Special Education in my undergrad, and after working in the classroom, discovered that I wanted to continue to go that route and finish up my certification. I'm so grateful to be back in the classroom again this year and am loving my new role as a Special Education teacher. I look forward to the future!

Teaching is a rewarding experience like no other. Some of my proudest moments have been when I've witnessed and helped a student achieve his/her goal or have received positive letters, comments, or cards from students saying how much I've impacted their lives.

I've always enjoyed school and education, and one of the great things about being a teacher is that it allows us to be a life-long learner. I'm excited to be taking education classes again and to brush up on some of strategies I have previously learned, as well as learn new information that will make me a better educator.
