I love the photo of my dog because of his original character and expression. His breed is yellow Foxhound and Beagle. His face is sweet, and his ears are long and super soft. Which complements his elegant look. The light and dark tones of his coat bring out his warm colors. This always envelops him in a sense of calm and happiness.

His look reflects curiosity and serenity, which gives me an emotional connection to the photo. I also love the relaxed position of her body, legs, and tail. These qualities motivated me to choose this photo. As a model for this project. Because to capture his essence of familiarity and tranquility.

To make the image more abstract, I started by simplifying my dog's shape. His long ears, which are a distinctive feature of his breed, were transformed into geometric shapes, like elongated ovals. His body was drawn in straight lines as well as his paws and tail.

I made a series of lines in shape forms, suggesting the figure of my dog, defining it clearly. For example, I used a series of a variety of light and dark pencil tones. To emphasize light and shadow, it gives it a sense of warmth and authenticity.

The palette of warm colors mixed, such as yellow, white, and brown, established a cheerful and warm mood. The shapes also express an abstract figure with calming energy.

To create a non-representative image, I focused on the emotional elements that my dog transmits to me. Like his affection, fidelity, serenity, and curiosity. I used pastel lines and colors to express my feelings and connection with him.

The drawings and contrasts I made of the Tree of Heaven leaves show positive and negative space in different ways. The first drawing focuses on the positive space of the Ailanthus altissima leaf, emphasizing the shape and veins of the leaf. I highlighted this drawing using sketching pencils No: H, 2B, and 2H.

The second drawing emphasizes all the negative space around the leaf. I darkened the entire background around the leaf, that is, all the empty areas that define the shape of the leaf. I did this with a 6B pencil. This shading process also allows the viewer to appreciate the shape of the leaf.

Both approaches to the leaf are valuable, but they serve different purposes. The drawing of the Ailanthus altissima leaf in positive space is detailed and immediately identifiable. The drawing of the negative space is more abstract and delicate. It draws the viewer's attention to the shape of the leaf and its dark shading, inviting them to interpret it.

If I had to do this work again, I would like to improve the lines. Consequently, in the drawing of the positive space of the Ailanthus altissima leaf, I would add more leaves to show its complete branch and its surroundings. In the drawing of the negative space, I would like to better outline the leaf. I would also like to learn more about the nuances of pencils and use more uniform shading.

The objective of this task was to produce a variety of colors by mixing the primary colors yellow, blue, red and green. This task was laborious, interesting and exciting because of the combination of shades. This experiment helped me to understand how colors are combined and the different shades that are generated from soft to strong. Consequently, each color variation inspired memories, moods and ideas.

Yellow is a beautiful vivid color. First, I mixed it with white, to create a soft base. Then I added a touch of green, but I didn't like it very much. I like light tones. However, when I added a touch of red, I felt the yellow took on a warmer tone. Creating a variety of pastel tones that I completely liked and generating a positive energy.

Blue was a strong color to experiment with. I mixed it with white, looking for softness of light blues. Then I mixed it with yellow, which I didn't like. Then I experimented with green, I had to wash the brush because they became too dark for my taste. Finally, the mixture of red producing browns, purple or grey, I didn't like them at all. The lighter blues inspired calm and serenity, of a calm summer sky in the morning or evening.

Red was a strong and challenging color. I started mixing pure red with white, creating lighter and pinker tones that I love. Then, I added a touch of brown, and shading to maroon tones. Then I integrated yellow, and it gave me peach colors. These mixtures were carefully checked, to avoid the invasion of the purple color. So, I almost always had to wash the brush to generate a new color. I love pinks and their variations, because they relax me and remind me of my childhood.

I love the color green because I associate it with nature and emeralds. I mix it with white, yellow and blue to create vibrant forest greens and even pastel greens. As always, I avoided mixing it with red or dark blue. These colors reminded me of the calm of a beautiful garden or the Xcaret resort in Mexico. Green symbolizes energy and inner peace.

In conclusion, this activity of mixing primary colors allowed me to experiment and discover different tones. This task showed me how colors are part of our visual environment, how this range of colors affect our emotions, and evoke memories.

In this assignment, I have explored two different shading techniques: blending with blurring and coloring in lines with sketching pencils. In both assignments I used techniques looking for light and value on a two-dimensional surface. The blending with different shades of sketching pencils allowed me to see smooth transitions and at the end a dark finish. On the other hand, the filling of squares based on lines with different tones of Sketching pencil, was more done with precision and control. I loved it and thanks to this observation, I better understood the different techniques. Also understanding the depth and dimension in a drawing.

Drawing 1

To create the light and volume values on the sphere, try to copy the drawing by eye, using the cup and ruler. Then with a knife I cut from each of the sketching pencils tips. so, I created graphite power from Sketching pencils # 2H, 2B, 3B and 6B.

Then I started to look for the light. Next, with my index finger I started to diffuse. With this technique I gave volume to the wait. Then I deepen the background. Always taking care not to darken the sphere and to give depth to the shadow of the ellipses and light on the two-dimensional surfaces.

Drawing 2

In this drawing I made a set of five squares with the same size 1x1 inches. Then I left the first square blank. I started to fill the second one with right lines and pencil # 2H. Then I filled the third one with pencil lines #2B. Then the fourth square with 3B and finally darkening the fifth with pencil lines # 6B. The experiences were super interesting, to see the contrasts from light to dark tones.

Comparing the two techniques, the spherical blurring technique was easier and faster. Consequently, the effect was captivating. I found that technique more uniform and professional. I also used bounty tower, to the lightening technique. That helped me to enhance the volume, the shadow in the bidimensional parallel. In the second drawing, I filled it with lines, and it was more directional and was more stressful.

This image is an emotional reflection of the emotional healing and sadness of my mother's death. It was in the month of April 2020. She was stolen by Pandemia. Her name was Milena and she was a beautiful woman. She was the pillar of our family. She was the first emigrant from two distant countries. But, because of self-improvement and love for her children, she worked hard without complaining. She worked from 7 in the morning to 11 at night. She always worked standing up and in domestic service, six days a week.

She inculcated in us the love of God. She supported me in the growth of my children who were her sweethearts. Milena always wanted to celebrate life. Consequently, she was always looking forward to gathering her children and family.

The composition of my painting is divided into two parts: the palm trees are my two brothers, a nephew and my two sons. We are the first and second generation in this country. These palm trees represent us as strong and hardworking people and brave in any storm. The flowered trees are her and me. The pink tree is her; she was fascinated by nature and its care. She used to give me money to hire a gardener once a month to maintain my small gardens.

She is a beautiful leafy tree, in shades of pink, white, fuchsia, purple. These colors represent her tranquility and love towards us. The red, orange, white, yellow, and purple bush is me. These colors represent my feelings of sadness for her absence, but also the joy of living. Her absence is a lump in my throat with warm and painful quiet crying.

My lines and brushstrokes tried to show realism and nature? hahahah! The sky in my painting is sky blue and 90 degrees degrees. The seagulls are free and peaceful in such a wide sky. The sea and its waves are “serene”, inviting to rest. But in the background is dark blue reflecting the depths of our love. I made it like a golden road, which means her. Like a luminous sunny bridge, reminding us of every day of the education and responsibility she taught us. Likewise, the shadows of the palm trees and trees are a gift to rest for the long day.

In this art class, I designed a 3D robot figure. I made it using recycled materials. I named the robot sculpture “El Leon” because I imagined and invented it as a super strong and intelligent machine designed to help nations. Its personality is harmless, but it can be destructive if it finds injustice in its data collection. It only activates to help in emergency situations.

The robot's body is made from a rectangular tissue box, which serves as the main support. It has four arms, which I crafted from plastic water bottle caps. There are two arms on each side of the body. The front arms are short and have aluminum foil pliers. The purpose is to do detailed work. But the back arms are long-range weapons, like missiles, giving the robot a powerful and flexible appearance. For the legs, I also used bottle caps and aluminum foil for the feet, always trying to keep the design symmetrical and balanced.

For the head, I used a plastic cup. To give the neck flexibility and focus, I used a Downy Infusion lid. Between the neck and the body, I used a candle lid and decorated it with rhinestones, representing 360 eyes around it. Its eyes and mouth are the "stay-tabs" used to open soda cans. It also has a cap that resembles the base of an inhaler can, protecting its base. And finally, two lids joined together. The orange lid is for Gatorade and the red lid is for Coca-Cola, and they represent the energy refill points, just like the satellite ball. Overall, it has a fun, robotic look.

I always thought about the power it could represent, and I was looking for a way to use recycled material for its elaboration. In the center of his body is glued a Chinese container and on top, the stamp of a Lion. The entire thing was painted in silver water paint. It is so beautiful that it gives the impression that it is ready to move or engage in action. The materials I used definitely transformed into something new. A simple tissue box, caps, and a plastic cup became a robot full of personality. These everyday items now look like mechanical parts, and together they create something imaginative and unique.

I think the robot is a success, because it shows creativity in the way materials were reused. The robot has a clear structure, with fun details and an inspiring name that fits its design. I was very excited with its construction, and it shows that art can originate new perspectives in ordinary objects.

The object I chose for my photograph is a simple cross made of carved amber glass. It is a translucent cross, honey-colored but with details highlighted in gold. I think it was molded in the shape of flowers. But if you look closely, they resemble pre-Columbian faces. Each point looks like a face with a crown. Perhaps that is the meaning that Christ is our king.

For this composition, I focused on the tips of the cross, where the vertical and horizontal bars meet. By looking closely at their ends, you can appreciate the complexity of their design. To do this, I used the zoom to capture the fine lines. I also illuminated it with another phone, highlighting its transparency and internal luminosity.

I used a light from my phone from below the cross. This created illumination in the lower part and produced shadows that accentuated and highlighted the details. The upper part of the face was emphasized. Reconsidering its meaning, art, and beauty.

The photograph beautifully captured the fine details of the molded glass cross. It shows the central rose and the straight, curved, and wavy lines around it. The terminals are highlighted with gold paint. It's a simple piece of craftsmanship, but the meaning of this everyday object is valuable to Catholic believers because it represents salvation from all evil.
