The above issue of Australian magazine 'Girlfriend' displays a group image of the band surrounded by all pink subheadings and sub-titles such as 'what his texts really mean' and 'one GF's heartbreaking story'. By promoting the band through various issues of magazines targeted at a young female audience it forces the audience to interpret the image of the band as desirable. This form of incessant promotion through these targeted magazines added fuel to the fire regarding their overwhelmingly large collection of young female fans. In turn this added to the bands reputation and star image as heartthrobs whilst also creating a wider public point of view that the band was 'talentless' and 'uncool' due to their female fanbase.
