One of the first classes that I took was Learning Theories and Applications. This class taught me more about different learning theories and the best way to apply them in the classroom. This final project from my class required me to show all the different learning theories in the classroom and the proper way to implement them. For example, I mention topics like chunking and cueing in this assignment. Learning that students can retain information better in “chunks” and that I can use cues such as turning off the light have both helped me become a better educator. In terms of teaching and classroom management. I chose to include this assignment in my collection because it shows many ways that I can apply different learning theories in the classroom.

I chose to include this assignment in my collection because in this assignment I discovered valuable research that shows the negative impact that social media use can have on students. This shows my growth as an educator and in this program through learning how to research and find different types of studies, such as qualitative and quantitative research, in education. I also discovered more ways that social media can harm students and this helps me in the classroom to have real and honest conversations with my students.

The assignment that I chose to include in my collection is my UDL Integration Unit. In this assignment, I had to create a unit based on Universal Design and create a variety of materials for implementation. I chose to incorporate this assignment because this assignment shows my growth as a learner in this program. This was the first unit that I had to create from start to finish based on Backwards Design or Universal Design. I show multiple means of engagement, access, and expression in this unit that I learned through this class. I can now take this unit and implement it in my classroom each year.

This final project I titled Data Literacy Restaurant includes the different strategies and their reasoning for classroom use. In this assignment, I describe different topics such as Culturally Responsive Assessments, Formative Assessments, and how difficulty and discrimination play into assessment results. The topics described in this assignment were just some of the concepts I learned from this class. These have helped me become a better educator, and create more reliable and effective assessments. The assignment that I have incorporated into my collection is the portfolio that I created for my final project in class. In this portfolio, I have a variety of assignments that display my knowledge of different content trends. Many of these assignments are named Lesson Reboot Assignments. In these assignments, I display knowledge of these different content trends by incorporating them into lessons that I have created for my students. In this portfolio, there are a wide variety of assignments that show my growth and knowledge of technology implementation. Assignments like my comic book strip that I have created. This was implemented in my classroom this past year. I also included an educational video project that I used to interact with my students. In this portfolio are also two examples of curation that I completed. One of these implements a new topic of a genius hour.
