The scene has 4 plates of food (A, B, C & D) 3 are finish but one is untouched, 3 of the cups are on the right side and one was on the left. Person D has there napkin tucked in neatly and so does C. D has their napkin messily placed on the counter. There is a right hand print on the wall next to the mop with a bucket of water with water on the floor. There are 3 sets of footprints on the floor (X, Y, & Z) one going to the back, one going to the cash register and one going out the door. There is also a man laying on the floor dead. The body is closest to B’s chair facing the door.

We have come to the conclusion that the murderer is chair C. C is the murderer because a witness stated that the hand print on the wall was that of the murderer's whilst shooting the victim. The print is of a right hand which would mean that the shooter shot with his left hand. Seat C's utensils are all placed on the left side and drink handle is also turned to the left, therefore C was left handed. The victim, Fannin was a faulty business dealer. The murderer might have known him through a deal that went bad and shot him for revenge. We have also concluded that C is footprint set X as the footprints start from where the hand print is and the steps are in the position of where the shooter's right hand would be.

The individual who killed Fannin is person C. The reason why it was person C is because he had his utensils on his left side, meaning he was left handed. With his left hand he shot the gun. This is crucial as the right handprint on the wall shows that he must have fired the shot from his left hand. After he murdered Fannin, he wandered away, leaving the footprints. Also, person B, C, and D knew each other, as their checks were equal to $8.75. Person Y is Ernie, because he cashed in the $8.75 into the cash register and after he heard the gunshot, and ran into the kitchen.

The silverware on the left side of person C’s plate and his right hand print on the wall implies that he is the assassin. Also, person B knew person C and D, as they cashed their checks together and sat beside each other. Lastly, person Y is Ernie, who cashed the $8.75. Therefore, person C is the murderer.

In Ernie’s Diner, there are two sets of different footprints, water spilled by a bucket, empty seats, an open cash register, empty plates, and Fannin laying on the ground. There is a right hand handprint on the wall adjacent to the window. At one seat, person “C” has his utensils on the left side of the plate. Persons B, C, and D knew each other and shared the check. Fannin was shot and whoever the shooter, left the handprint on the wall, which was a right hand. There was only one utensil set on the left side, which means whoever shot Fannin was holding the gun in their left hand. Person C was left handed, which gives evidence that C had to have shot him with the gun in his left hand. Fannin died which allows the Detective to assume that the person who shot Fannin shot him with their dominant hand. Person C is the person who killed Fannin. The handprint on the wall, the utensils, and the checks reveal that Person C shot and killed Fannin.

Our warrant is as follows: there is hand print on the wall, water everywhere, lots footprints, body on the floor, and cash register open. There is a right hand print on the wall meaning the shooter was a lefty. The only person that was a lefty was seat C because guy C is the only person with utensils (forks, cup etc.) on the left of him. The floor is wet, probably because the murder was cleaning up the blood from when the man was shot. We have found that Y is the murders footprints because right where the footprints are, are where the shot was fired at Fannin. Then the murder quickly escaped through the kitchen, going through the front door like X’s footsteps wouldn’t be likely because it would draw attention to him. The conclusion is that guy C is the murder because of the hand print on the wall, which was a right hand print. Meaning he shot with his left hand, and the only seat to have utensils on the left was seat C. The footprints of Y, are guy C’s because that's where he shot Fannin and quickly ran to the kitchen to escape. All evidence that we have gathered, has pointed to the murder as guy C.

In Ernie’s lunchroom there were 4 people eating food. Persons B, C, and D were eating together. Person A was eating alone, but had his food untouched. There are footprints throughout the lunchroom floor and a dark handprint on the wall next to a map. The body is placed with no blood around him. The cash register is rung up at $8.25, which is the total of Persons B, C, and D’s lunches. There are also footprints leading into the kitchen. This indicates that Person A tip toed out of the kitchen. There are smaller footprints by the stool. There is only one person who could have walked into the kitchen from where the footprints start, which is at the stool. There is also a bloody handprint on the wall. This displays that the killer leaned against the wall before proceeding to shoot Fannin. There are footprints leading from the handprint into the kitchen. Finally, there is a plate of untouched food on the counter. We can infer from this that Person A’s food has not been touched. This is due to the fact that he killed Fannin. In conclusion, Person A was the one who shot Fannin because of the price of the checks, the footprints, the handprint and his untouched food.
