What did I wander?

What I observe:
When reading aloud to children, I notice they become more engaged and interested in the story. Their vocabulary grows as they hear new words, and they begin to understand how sentences are formed. I also see that they enjoy listening and start to develop a love for books and reading. They often ask questions or make comments that show they are thinking deeply.

What I wonder:
I wonder how reading aloud every day could impact their long-term language development. How can I choose stories that both entertain and teach? Could this simple activity be one of the most powerful tools for helping children become strong readers?

express themselves. Simple materials like crayons, paper, and magnetic letters can spark

creativity and encourage early writing skills. I also noticed how important it is to make writing

What did I notice?

I noticed that literacy development doesn't just happen in the classroom—it can be part of

everyday life. Simple activities like writing grocery lists or reading signs are valuable

opportunities for learning. I also noticed that oral storytelling helps children develop language

and narrative skills in a fun, meaningful way. Shared routines encourage participation and build

confidence in both reading and writing.

I wondered how I can better involve children in everyday literacy tasks at home or in the

classroom. Can I create more moments where they help write messages or talk about their daily

experiences? I also wondered how I can encourage families to see the value of these
