a)The aspiration was 'in the entrepreneurial sector, how do we create a table for ourselves and for other': My opinion is that we are all creating different tables (color, sizes, strengths, seats, legs) and have not found a way of combining our efforts

1. I was impressed (and intrigued) by how many commenters were focused on connections within particular ideological or theoretical stances, for example, "people interested in disruptive approaches to capitalism" or etc. We want to be connected with people who think radically.

-I really liked the idea of regional physical convening. I even imagine a worldwide convening with the physical regional groups.

I really thought Whatsapp is a great medium (the East Africa culture values Twitter/IG/Whatsapp, but i don't think is mainstream in other regions ... should we create East Africa social media groups - how far will this fragment the cohort?

How are connections and relationships being formed: So far i feel i connect with June and December convenings ... which were spaced that way due to them being physical ... should we have increased the number? Cold i proposed a regional physical convening?

I like that the notion of more practical collaboration is emerging, like a project or issue of forum that we could all collaborate on/as.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were several pre-existing connections in the Fellowship. I sensed that MENA Fellows were pretty connected already and it was good to see that in the data.

Challenges in connecting: So, I aspire to do more global/public health work through a Global Health Institute ... but i still feel trapped in the private sector work ( workload that sometimes is not strategically aligned to my global health impact work)

We might want to explore more about the factors that are barriers to connection - are there language barriers for some, cultural barriers for others? Maybe our interactions are so mediated so maybe we need more spaces to explore in a more open way.

In other meetings she is involved in, they keep a transcript in writing of conversations which is easier for people who are not native English speakers to review later.

Rachel - the structure has been good but we are missing all of the informal, unmediated, surprising, organic, and messy, funny interactions we might have if we were in person.

The structured time allows him to be dedicated to the fellowship. But missing the breakfasts dinners, walks. Are there outcomes that might have to be prioritized given these dynamics. For example, would love to be able to explore the diasporic nature of our work. In more targetted discussions built into cohort calls. - Thematic discussions.

Even those who are in the same city - in East Africa - have not met together. So regional meetings would be desired as well.

People really want to get into the nitty gritty about how people are doing "some particular thing" - like disrupting capitalism or whatever.

Fellows may need things to happen in "protected" time so that they are more available to join things. Ad hoc meetings are more difficult to attend.

I just want to say that, even most of the fellows probably felt like the structured meetings affects their connections to each other, for me, it's the opposite. I'm usually the type of person who can not join a conversation, gets talked over, does know how to enter a subject...
So the structured meetings allow me to speak and to be heard.
