At first, when hearing the word "ICT" we would associate it with Information, Communications, Technology which is quite literally what it is all about, a “technology that provides access to information through telecommunications”. However, through using website makers such as WordPress and Weebly, our perception of the term ICT has completely changed from that of a simple tool which we use to send messages and acquire information, to that of a greater creation which has changed the ways of life. ICT has created a big impact in our lives, it has turned letters to emails, and classrooms to e-classrooms. It has allowed us to reach another level of convenience and have better platforms to disseminate and acquire information. Truly ICT has evolved and as students of the 21st century it has made us appreciate ICT more and made us look forward on what ICT can bring us in the next couple of years.

ICT is a tool that’s can help us achieve greater goals. It not had only helped people in living their daily lives but it had also contributed immensely through social and economic improvements in our society. ICT has helped increase employment through the creation of user-consumer apps like Tick-tock, Youtube, Facebook and etc.. It creates jobs for people who can work in-front and behind the scenes. It has also increased productivity, now we can buy things online while working and also doing stuff we like, such as watching plays while working, just like hitting two birds with one stone. It has increased the quality of life without it being limited to certain people in society. Now, people can have access to everything from information, news, music, books and etc. and all they need to access them is a device, the internet, and themselves.

ICT has enabled us to have a platform where we can share information or spread certain issues to the public. Medias such as Pages, Websites which are one of the many methods that are currently used by many people to voice any information, topic or issue, which has truly become useful in making information available for everyone. We believe that ICT has truly helped disseminate information for everyone however, along with it also comes the danger of misinformation, which we think has also become a great problem in society. Now, not everything on the net can be trusted especially information from unverified sources such as news coming from social media platforms. We have witnessed this in many of the older generation who lack internet literacy and seems to trust just about anything they see on the internet. This has led to scams and misinformation making the purpose of ICT which is “to spread information” into “a tool that spreads "misinformation". Arguably, there may be certain platforms that may spread false information and it is our responsibility to verify which is right from which is wrong through researching or reading on credible sources or sites. Although the internet has created negative effects, its benefits outweigh the problems it creates, we cannot simply deny that ICT truly has served its purpose and agree that it has become a great tool for disseminating information, becoming aa tool to empower people with one click of their hands.

Overall what I can recommend for the use of ICT in the country is for the government to regulate it, “regulate” and not “control”. This is for information become credible and for there to become less victims of fraudulent activities on the internet. Through this it would be easier for the government to accurately identify the people behind such activities and lessen the cases of scams and hackings. It can also be great if ICT can be used to turn manual transactions in the government into computer-based ones, to increase the speed transactions which is quite absent in the country and save on needless manpower which just results to a wastage of the government funds.
