In Christianity, baptism is the sacrament of admission to the church, symbolized by the pouring or sprinkling of water on the head (child) or by immersion in water (adult). According to Roman Catholic Law, godparents are required to attend the ceremony. They also agree that they are accountable for the child's religious upbringing if the parents are unable to do so. The newborn is usually given a name during the baptism which is known as, christening.

In Christianity marriage, the union between a man and a woman is instituted and ordained by God as the lifelong relationship. This is the sacrament of Holy Matrimony. Usually the wedding ceremony is taken place at a church. During the wedding ceremony, the bride is accompanied by her guardian down the aisle to the groom. The bride and groom also trade vows and rings. After, they have a wedding party when they kiss and go down the aisle.

Death

In Christianity, death can/could be a passage of eternal life. When people die they are criticized by how they lived their lives (Heaven, hell, or purgatory either one). If the person repented their sin they go to heaven. If you are unrepentant you go to hell, or you go purgatory and get your soul cleaned and made ready for union with God. The Rites or the Anointing of the Sick (Extreme Unction) which is a sacrament is usually given to seriously ill people. Roman Catholics pray the rosary over the corpse the day before the funeral. Christian funerals are different around the world. For example, in some countries a wake, or period mourning and prayer are performed.
