Milad uses mixed media in her art like collage and paints to create pieces that explore history and cultural heritage. The pieces above titled “Histories Collide” was inspired by Milad’s study trip to Egypt. She used her immersion in Egyptian history to create art inspired by the prompt “What images and thoughts emerge when myths and histories collide?” With that she used collage to express her thoughts and ideas that answered the prompt.

Nara says that while presenting their artwork in Germany Kindchenschema (the phenomenon of cuteness) is discussed because of the big heads on small figures that shows up consistently in their work; this relates to Nara’s inspiration being their childhood. Nara also says that their style is an expression of being away from Japan because they spent their childhood in a foreign country.
