BJ's has opened 16 stores this year to close out the fiscal in 2015. Their last store for 2015 just opened last month in Texas. Another one of their establishments they are trying to open is near Park City Center. This 6,200 square foot restaurant will start building soon and these 16 restaurants will help the company increase its number of restaurants to almost 200. The opening of 16 new establishments this year will result in a sales increase of $80 million and as a result the stock price will increase 17% by the end of this year.

Source

http://globenewswire.com/news-release/2015/11/18/788511/10156701/en/BJ-s-Restaurants-Opens-in-Longview-Texas.html

BJ's Restaurant has improved its cash flow again for this year and improved its balance sheets so it furthered and balanced future growth plans. With double digit new restaurant openings, sales momentum and operating and cost disciplines, BJ’s Restaurants is confident about revenue and earnings growth in the upcoming quarters. This confidence has made has repurchased shares worth $187 million, which includes repurchases of about $21.2 million in the fourth quarter, to date. Currently, BJ’s Restaurants has approximately $63 million available for repurchase under its authorized $250 million share buyback program. I believe this will increase the stock price by 8% by the end of January.

Source

http://www.zacks.com/stock/news/200540/bjs-restaurants-ups-share-repurchase-program-by-50m

Cereal sales have dropped 5% in five years and Kelloggs has been shaky because they are mostly in the cereal area. Cereal use to be the only breakfast option but now people are trying new things for breakfast and Kelloggs will soon be on the decline. Kelloggs is partnering up with culinary experts and starting a new campaign the Stir It Up campaign. They are looking to redefine their breakfast. One of Kelloggs' new options that is redefined is a sweet potato breakfast pudding. They are debuting 40 new products early to go. This will increase sales by $7 million and increase the stock price by 18% by the end of next year.

Source

http://www.businessinsider.com/kellogg-strategy-cereal-declining-2015-12

Kellogg's vs. General Mills

General Mills is just better off than Kelloggs over the past five years because although cereal sales are declining and Kelloggs is not very diverse and is focused mostly on cereal, General Mills owns many other companies. They own Yoplait, Haagen-Dazs, Green Giant, Pillsbury frozen products, Betty Crocker, and other well-known brands. Because General Mills is doing better than Kelloggs they have one up on the competition. General Mills can afford better marketing because they will have larger sales and can make more money than the dying competitor, Kelloggs. Because General Mills is so diverse they will have a sales increase of $4 million and increase their stock price by 2.9%.

Source

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/07/12/better-dividend-stock-general-mills-inc-or-kellogg.aspx

Why Kellogg Stock Appears Poised for Tasty Gains

Analysis shows that Kellogg's stock looked like it was going to shrug off its recent selling. The combination of charting price and momentum almost always lead to a good outcome, which is why this is a stock that is worth following. Their consistent price volatility is reassuring, and a prediction of strength in the trading range. It is also important to take into consideration that Kellogg's beta is somewhere between 0.52 (Google Finance) and 0.82 (Yahoo Finance), so that is why the price reaction to marketwide volatility is lower than some other stocks. Since it was able to overcome what could have been a large loss, this indicates a positive outlook for the future. This could possibly lead to an increase in the stock price by 2.2%.

Source

http://www.thestreet.com/story/13269942/1/why-kellogg-stock-appears-poised-for-tasty-gains.html

Cage-Free Eggs 2025

General Mills has officially put a deadline on its move to 100% cage-free eggs in all its U.S. products. By 2025, the packaged food company will complete the transformation. Kelloggs, their competitor is also trying to move towards cage-free eggs to be natural. With cage-free eggs, all of General Mills' products will be more natural and because people are moving towards eating more natural and healthier, if they see all General Mills products are made with cage-free eggs, they will get more business. More people will want to buy their products and they will get a one up on the other breakfast competitors. This will increase sales this coming year by $5 million and increase the stock price by 7%.

Source

http://fortune.com/2015/11/25/general-mills-cage-free-eggs/

Invest In BJ's Restaurant

I chose to buy BJ's Restaurant (BJRI) stock because it is a relatively new restaurant that sells a variety of food items. BJ's sells american cuisine like hamburgers, pizza, steak, and have their own brewery that brews ten unique flavors. So the restaurant has a large menu that offers food to anyone in a family no matter how picky the eater. It has something for everyone so it can bring in a larger volume of customers and large families. The 52 week low for BJRI is 40.33 and the 52 week high is 53.44. I would buy this stock because it is currently at 43.42 so it is relatively cheap and the analysts are calling it bullish and a stock to buy. They are saying this because not only is the beta 1.3 so it is risky and could go up at any time and there has been some good news lately. BJ's has opened 16 stores this year and already looking to open over 20 more in 2016. Many of BJ's new establishment locations are around malls where the volume of people is very high. Also according to the news, the company itself feels very confident about there own company and are increasing their share repurchase. By increasing that, it shows possible investors that the company feels confident in themselves that it will do better and proof of that is an increase of sales over the past two years. Red Robin is one of BJ's competitors and Red Robin for the past 2 years has been doing much worse and their sales are slowing falling and so is their stock price. BJ's on the other hand is more risky and changes very quickly but overall it has been doing much better than Red Robin and BJ's sales are increasing unlike Red Robins. I believe that the large increase of new stores over the past year and this coming year along with the companies own confidence in their stock will lead to a increase in the stock price and makes for a great company to invest in.

Invest in General Mills

I chose to buy General Mills stock because it is the owner of many popular cereal and food brands. The 52 week low for GIS is 47.43 and the 52 week high is 59.87. I chose to buy this stock because it has been doing very well recently and I can see it increasing in the future. This may be due to their move towards producing healthier foods, specifically by making the switch to cage free eggs. Analysis is saying this will increase sales this coming year by $5 million and increase the stock price by 7%. (General Mills Will Switch to Cage-Free Eggs by 2025 article by Laura Lorenzetti http://fortune.com/2015/11/25/general-mills-cage-free-eggs/) General Mills is also known to be a much more liked company than Kelloggs, mostly because they are not just a strictly cereal brand, they have a much wider variety of foods. This has caused General Mills to be much better off throughout the past five years and they will have a sales increase of $4 million and increase their stock price by 2.9%. (Better Dividend Stock: General Mills Inc. or Kellogg Company http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/07/12/better-dividend-stock-general-mills-inc-or-kellogg.aspx) I believe GIS is going to increase in stock price in the future due to their ingredient changes and their wide variety, which is why it is a smart stock to buy now.
