1. Loneliness with the elderly – (majority live alone), allotment to keep them busy, weekly games and other things to keep them busy and less lonely/ things to look forward to in the week.

2. Unemployment – Group sessions for skill, learning to cook, gardening, carpentry, painting, and decorating, so that they can keep up with their household and hopefully be able to get a job with the skills that they have learnt

3. Amenities for the park – for the youth and to try to cancel out crime rates, also helps the elderly to have a place to go and get out. Keeps the kids active and live a healthier lifestyle.

• A woman we spoke to in the library (elderly) said that many elderly people live alone and lead sad, lonely lives, and they don’t feel safe.

• Chaddesden has an unemployment rate higher than the East Midlands average.

• Park amenities - Multipurpose court (Tennis, Basketball) & Table tennis? - appeal from council, painting lines, hoops/ nets

• One time tournament (during school holidays) with incentive (prize from money out of budget or local sponsor) – Encourage people to use it more - £1 per player to enter in teams or school teams from different schools in Chaddesden

• Older generation – fearful of younger- older people teaching younger – build connectionser Activities

• Age UK building (renting?)

Crime rates in Chaddesden are high in comparison to average in UK but not the highest.

Figure out how to set up summer activities (fund, paid/free, who will run it? volunteers, charities?)

• We increase our engagement with the elderly community by providing more activities tailored to their needs and helping to address the issue of loneliness among the older population.

• We establish a partnership with Revive, a 20-year old charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of residents in Chaddesden, among other areas.

• We expand our activities to include a wider range of options that appeal to all age groups and interests.
