Immigrating to America was not easy! According to the article, “Immigration” by White’s WorkShop, you had many steps to go through to immigrate, if you had money you were treated better, and some people did not get to stay.
Proof of there being many steps is, you had to get a health check at an island before Ellis Island. Then you had to wait for everyone to get off the boat unless you were rich. There was also the Registry Room, The Six Second physical,and then, The final question which was 29 questions long.
To show that those with money were treated better, they got off the boat first. They also did not get a small boat. They then didn't have to wait two weeks for the small boat to come like the poor people did.
Finally, proof to show that not everyone was able to get in is, Ellis Island was not called The Island of hopes for nothing let me tell you where it got that nickname! Everyone wanted to get in but not all people could stay, so they prayed and prayed and prayed and all they could do was hope they got in! But it had another nickname, The Island of Tears. Why? People were sent back home unless, they answered all the questions of The final Question  correctly . 
In conclusion it was hard to immigrate to America. What can you do to change the world?

It's been a minute since I last posted on here and I am a freshman now! I can't believe it's been about 7 years since I first had your class! It's been a minute and I still can't believe I don't go to barberton anymore. Sometimes I miss it but other times I am glad that I go to Bio-Med now. Anyways how are you doing? I've been doing pretty well personally (except for the fact that we have to do histograms in math class) especially since I'm in a club called BPA now. It stands for business professionals of America and I am historian of the club! I've also been making a lot of new friends this year and I think they've helped me grow as a person. I'm hoping to make it to national competitions for BPA this year and I'll let you know if I do. I got to states last year but a lot of my friends did get to go to nationals. I started playing a game called ninja gaiden on the NES lately and it's pretty fun. I also installed a spin off game called the messenger on my switch and it's pretty fun so far as well. I've got a lot more to tell you but I can't remember right now. So for now just tell me how you're doing and how you've been! - Noah

You were the reason I applied for the advanced math course in the first place because I remember how much fun it was to be challenged by the problems you would give me. I’m not sure if you remember me but I was in your third grade class a while ago. I can’t remember the year but I’m about to turn 23 this week. Life has been pretty cool! I graduated college twice. I attended Central State University and I got my BSBA last May and my MBA this May! This is my first fall ever that I’m not in school which is crazy lol! In school I was very active on many levels. I was able to join a lot of organizations and obtain the highest leadership position at the University!

I’m back home now and I work in arts & entertainment and I love it! It’s funny because actually I thought about you at work and we were talking about directions and I will never forget when you taught us how to remember north, east, south, west. Never Eat Scott Wachsberger! It’s hilarious and still helpful to this day lol! I hope you are doing so well! Thanks for being an amazing teacher all these years later and I still remember it as one of my favorite classes! Would love to set up a zoom or teams meeting to see how things are!
