SAMPLE:

Public Enemy's 'Fight the Power' (1989) reflected growing urban frustration with systemic racism and police brutality in the late 1980s, which continues today in urban spaces across America, culminating in the national BLM protests in the wake of the murder of George Flloyd in 2020. This song's aggressive tone and direct lyrics represented a shift from earlier, more peaceful protest songs of the Civil Rights Movement. The song was used as the opening credits of the Spike Lee iconic film "Do the Right Thing" (1989) with the vibrant dancer Rosie Perez. Racial discrimination is a complex topic that continues to be a challenge in modern America, and although many steps have been made in a positive direction to protect the rights of historically disenfranchised Black Americans through the Civil Rights Act of of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and more recently, endowments to HB-CUs, representation in local and national governments are necessary to implement the changes needed to achieve MLK's dream to some day live in a nation where citizens are "not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

The change I want to see is for people worldwide to become more educated on topics like the Holocaust. Further, misinformation on issues such as what is happening in Israel right now must be clarified. This change is vital because innocent, hard-working Jews were kidnapped and taken hostage. Also, Jews all over the world constantly have targets on their back. This has to change as it is inhuman and flat-out wrong. One way to ensure that antisemitism rates decrease is to teach people the correct history. Further, whether it is antisemitism or another practice of xenophobia, we need to put an end to it. It should not be acceptable to treat someone a certain way just because of their religion. Instead, it should matter what someone's morals are, not if they're simply Jewish or not. One reason this is important for me is because my great-grandma was in the holocaust. Thankfully, she survived and passed away many years later. However, at just 16 years old, she had to say goodbye to her parents and never saw them again. Never again is it now, and people have to realize the severity of the situation in Israel. Also, one reason this is a challenge is that people do not have first-hand information since most people in the world do not have direct interaction with Jewish people (Jewish people only make up 0.2% of the world's population).

I would like to see a change in Climate Change. Although some may say that climate change is not a serious issue this change is necessary; if we don't make a change now the environment will continue to deteriorate. I would like to see a change for the benefit of the future generations. I could help achieve this by advocating to protect the oceans and forests. We could also improve farming and invest in renewable energy. Some barriers that might get in the way of this change are limitations such as lack of leadership or supportive political environments, attitudes among the public, and lack of information or resources. This change is important despite the barriers Climate change is a crucial issue that needs to fixed because it is affecting the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the weather we experience.
