This song's aggressive tone and direct lyrics represented a shift from earlier, more peaceful protest songs of the Civil Rights Movement. The song was used as the opening credits of the Spike Lee iconic film "Do the Right Thing" (1989) with the vibrant dancer Rosie Perez. Racial discrimination is a complex topic that continues to be a challenge in modern America, and although many steps have been made in a positive direction to protect the rights of historically disenfranchised Black Americans through the Civil Rights Act of of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and more recently, endowments to HB-CUs, representation in local and national governments are necessary to implement the changes needed to achieve MLK's dream to some day live in a nation where citizens are "not judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

The main call to action in the song "Uprising" by Muse is having freedom. In saying "They will not force us. They will stop degrading us. They will not control us. We will be victorious" this idea of having more freedom is evident. In terms of freedom I believe that the people should not be suppressed when trying to communicate their opinions. Actions such as peaceful protest could be a great way to instill this change. Some challenges in making this change happen are staying patient and challenging the norm. This change is important as all people deserve equal freedom regardless of power.

Muse's "Uprising (2009) reflected about trying to protest and starting revolutions about global coruptions and banking issues, as this is no longer an issue, in the late 2010s there was power close to being corrupt and many theives taking from banks. Some actions to take care of this issue was to add more security to the banks and distribute power more evenly. These changes are needed, because the globe doesn't need a worldwide issue of bank and power corruptions. The challenges of this are buliding high security at every bank and evening power, but although it will be difficult, this is important because we don't want wars or global money being stolen. The songs hard and electric tone represents coming together to stop the evil in the world. This song was used in the movie Knight & Day (2010).

One important change I want to see is stronger action on global warming. This change is necessary because global warming is causing more extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and threatening ecosystems and human communities worldwide. The specific change I want to see is a global reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, particularly from industries, transportation, and energy production. To achieve this, we can transition to clean energy sources, promote energy efficiency, and encourage the use of electric vehicles. A major challenge to this change is the reliance on fossil fuels the industries that contribute to global warming. However, this change is crucial because addressing global warming will protect the planet, improve public health, and ensure a safer future for generations to come.

I want to see more education on antisemitism, better representation of Jewish people in media, and stronger laws against hate speech. The song War by Edwin Starr promotes unity and resistance against hate, which can be applied to fighting antisemitism by advocating for equality and understanding. This change is needed because antisemitism harms Jewish communities and divides society, so education and positive media representation can help break down stereotypes and prevent discrimination. Actions like including antisemitism awareness in school expectations, pushing for more diverse portrayals of Jewish people, and supporting organizations like the ADL through advocacy can lead to change. However, there are barriers, such resistance from some people, and a lack of awareness about the issue. Despite these challenges, fighting antisemitism is crucial for ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, can live without fear of discrimination, contributing to a peaceful society.

A big global issue that needs to be worked on is food insecurity. This needs to be worked on because there's a lot of people who don't have access to food for many reasons whether they don't have the money or don't have anywhere to get it from. There's plenty ways to help, for example, people can make sure they don't waste food, they can donate to food banks, take part in food drives and a bunch more. While it's easy to help fix this problem, the people who need help, might not know where they can get it, so it's also important to make these systems accessible and known. Focusing on this problem would fix a major issue that people face all over the globe.

Changing to renewable energy, and a significant reduction in carbon emissions would help the planet, animals, and our environment. Climate change is causing extreme weather, rising sea levels, and ecosystem destruction.

The change I want to see is less pollution in the oceans. This change is needed because plastic and pollution in the oceans are hurting and even killing some ecosystems. Some ways to achieve this are making sure you recycle and being conscious of how much plastic vs. reusable products you use on a daily. Tan Zi Xi, a Singaporean artist, also known as MessyMsx, had an art exhibit consisting of different forms of plastic hanging in an empty room, illustrating how our world is being taken over by plastic. To build her Plastic Ocean installation, she cleaned and arranged 500kg of leftover ocean plastic (more than 26,000 pieces). Some barriers that get in the way of this are the fact that many things have plastic in them, and many of our daily essentials are packaged in plastic. This change matters because cutting down on ocean pollution helps preserve marine life and the environment. Even with the obstacles, acting now can prevent further damage to our planet’s future.

The change I want to see is greater access to clean water in developing countries. Many communities still lack reliable access to safe drinking water, which leads to health problems and limits opportunities for growth. Building sustainable water infrastructure and supporting water conservation programs can help solve this issue. Donating to organizations, raising awareness, and advocating for policy changes can all contribute to this change. Challenges include funding shortages, political instability, and environmental factors. Despite these obstacles, access to clean water is a basic human right, and improving it will lead to better health and economic development.

Antisemitism

The change I want to see is for people worldwide to become more educated on topics like the Holocaust. Further, misinformation on issues such as what is happening in Israel right now must be clarified. This change is vital because innocent, hard-working Jews were kidnapped and taken hostage. Also, Jews all over the world constantly have targets on their back. This has to change as it is inhuman and flat-out wrong. One way to ensure that antisemitism rates decrease is to teach people the correct history. Further, whether it is antisemitism or another practice of xenophobia, we need to put an end to it. It should not be acceptable to treat someone a certain way just because of their religion. Instead, it should matter what someone's morals are, not if they're simply Jewish or not. One reason this is important for me is because my great-grandma was in the holocaust. Thankfully, she survived and passed away many years later. However, at just 16 years old, she had to say goodbye to her parents and never saw them again. Never again is it now, and people have to realize the severity of the situation in Israel. Also, one reason this is a challenge is that people do not have first-hand information since most people in the world do not have direct interaction with Jewish people (Jewish people only make up 0.2% of the world's population).

A change I want to see in the world is a stop oil drilling in Alaska. This change is needed because drilling for oil in places such as Alaska can be very harmful for to the evnvironment and different ecosystems, and makes climate change worse. Instead of drilling we should focus on doing what's better for the environment so we can stop hurting it and start helping it. To make this change happen, people can sign petitions, join peaceful protests, or contact government leaders. One big challenge to stop this is that some people and companies want to keep drilling for money and jobs. Even with these challenges, stopping the Willow Project is important because protecting the planet and making sure it is a sustainable place for us to live matters more than a short term profit.

One change I want to see is a greater acceptance for LGBTQ members around the world. I believe this is needed because of the increasing hatred towards LGBTQ members and allies. It's necessary for our society to develop and grow to get over this unjust hatred. I believe that simply treating LGBTQ members like normal people is enough to stop the violence and hate towards their community, although with our current president and overall government, I believe none of this could come to fruition unless Trump's presidency is over. Despite the challenges, this cause is still worth fighting for because it allows our society to become more comfortable expressing themselves and taking a step out of the box.

A change in this is necessary because cutting down trees releases a vast amount of carbon, adding to the greenhouse effect of heat trapped in the atmosphere. Global warming will melt ice caps, and cutting down trees will disrupt animal and plant habitats. We can stop this by protesting and protecting forests. This change is needed because it crucial to making sure everything is accessible to everyone, and it stops class divides in any countries, if the income is equal to everyone, depending on the job you do etc., it will significantly boost the global economy and standard of living. Actions that can help make this change are companies paying fair wages to all workers relative to the job they are doing no matter anything, race, gender, etc. A way to spark this change could be strikes, not going to work, boycotting the companies and not purchasing some them, etc. Some challenges may arise from the company losing money from the wages and not being able to pay everyone, which can cause drawbacks to this idea but then the wages of the CEO's should be cut to allocate for this.

A change I want to see is more availability for help and prevention of mental health problems. The song "STOP TRYING TO BE GOD" by Travis Scott reflects on the pressures and internal struggles that lead to mental health issues, which is a current problem in America. This change is needed because mental health issues often go untreated because of a lack of resources, or other factors. In the song, Travis Scott speaks about the excessive pressures to attain perfection, fame, or god-like status, showing the internal struggles that lead to mental health issues. To achieve this change of more mental health awareness, people can get educated about mental health, signs of emotional stress, and the available resources. People can push for more funding for mental health programs, making sure that there are enough services available to meet their needs. A possible challenge in making this change is that many people don’t fully understand mental health issues, which can lead to misunderstandings. For someone suffering from mental health issues, their lack of education about it can make it harder for people to talk about their struggles, or get help. This change is important because when people get the mental health support they need, they are more likely to succeed at work and stay healthy more often. Lastly, the song's lyrics emphasize how people feel like they're forced to be something that they aren't, and toward the end of the song, how people should embrace their imperfections as part of their character instead of suppressing them.

A specific change I would like to see would be putting a stop to climate change, or at least limiting the risks of it. This change is needed because many environments are being ruined, change, and many animals are being displaced, such as penguins, polar bears, and many others. Some actions that could help achieve this change would be limiting the use of fossil fuels, and transitioning over to the use of green energy and nuclear solutions, while improving the effectiveness of these solutions. I could make this change happen by advocating for change with the help of the government, or even protesting. Some challenges and/or barriers that could get in the way of this would be companies or industries that profit over the use of fossil fuels and they would do anything in their power to keep them “alive”, and many civilizations will need to develop new technologies and increase efficiency of green solutions to be able to actually sustain themselves without fossil fuels.

I want to see a change or shift toward addressing global warming through sustainable practices, reduced carbon emissions, and a collective global commitment to renewable energy sources. This is urgently needed because the effects of climate change are becoming devastating such as rising sea levels, extreme weather events, etc. This will call for policy measures, increased investments in technology, and a culturally supportive mindset that leans toward sustainable development. It would involve through framing the climate policies by governments or investment in cleaner technologies by industries. The barriers in this change can be political obstruction, the economic interests of the fossil fuel industries. Despite these obstacles, global warming has to be changed because the it affects the nature severely.

Climate change is a big problem, and we need to act now. We should work harder to cut pollution, protect nature, and use clean energy. This is important because we’re already seeing extreme weather, rising sea levels, and environmental damage. We can help by joining peaceful protests, signing petitions, voting for leaders who care about the planet, and spreading awareness. Some challenges include companies caring more about money than the environment and people spreading false information. But saving our planet matters too much to give up. Every small action counts; if enough people push for change, we can make a real difference.

One change I would like to see in the world is toward sustainability, especially in using renewable sources of energy, agriculture, and transportation. This change is necessary because climate change is accelerating through the increase of sea levels, extreme weather events, and loss of biodiversity that threatens life on Earth. By switching to renewable energy sources, we would drastically reduce carbon emissions, and by practicing sustainable farming, there would be food, but not at the further cost of the environment. This would involve the activities of the creation of campaigns towards change of policy, green technology support, making eco-friendly life choices by waste reduction, use of cleaner energies, etc. It may be obstructed by political obstacles, economic interests linked with fossil fuels, and general unawareness. Even with such barriers, this change is important; our current path is not sustainable, and future generations will face much worse consequences unless something is done. As Greta Thunberg said, "I want you to act as if the house is on fire, because it is." We have wasted enough time already.

The change I want to see is a greater focus on mental health awareness and support, particularly in marginalized communities facing systemic challenges. This change is needed because, as seen in Sunflower Seeds by Pi’erre Bourne and Young Nudy, individuals may appear successful outwardly but often deal with unresolved internal struggles. Mental health care should be accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it, and we must destigmatize seeking help. To achieve this, we can raise awareness through campaigns and social media, provide resources like free counseling in underserved areas, collaborate with local organizations and influencers, and create safe spaces for people to seek support. Barriers to this change include stigma, lack of resources, and cultural resistance to vulnerability, but despite these challenges, it’s crucial to prioritize mental health because it affects our overall well-being. By addressing mental health, we invest in healthier, more resilient communities. As Nelson Mandela said, “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.
