L.G. 1.a)  We will look at our use of electricity and its impact on the environment.
S.C. -investigate hydro-electric, thermal, nuclear, wind, solar energy 
S.C. Find ways we can reduce electricity at home and at school.
L.G. 1b) We will look at long term impacts of our energy use and consider ways energy can be transformed and conserved.

L.G. 2.  We will investigate static vs. current electricity and build circuits
S.C. -experiments to investigate the characteristics
S.C.-design, build, test a series and a parallel circuit
S.C. -design, build, and test a device to perform a function (light, sound, movement)

L.G. 3. We will demonstrate an understanding of how other forms of energy is transformed into electrical energy
S.C. - know the difference between static and current electricity
S.C. - determine conductors vs insulators through experimentation
S.C. - understand how energy is transformed into other energy
S.C. - look at how electricity has changed over time


L.G.  4. We will investigate forms of energy and energy sources that are renewable vs non-renewable
S.C. -identify forms of energy (electrical, chemical, mechanical, heat, light, kinetic)
S.C. - identify renewable and non-renewable energy (R-sun, wind, ocean waves, tides, wood; NR-fossil fuels-coal and natural gas)
