in 1948 the U.S., France, and Great Britain announced plans to use a new form of currency. The soviets were not informed and withdrew from the allies. When the currency was introduced the Soviets cut off there portion of Berlin seeing it as a threat to communism. shortly after America began dumping supplies into Berlin and supported it for almost a year.

in 1950 Korea was divided into north and south Korea. the north supported communism and the south supported democracy. North Korea invade South Korea and nearly took it over intirely. America stepped in at this time and nearly took over North Korea as an unstoppable force until china stepped in and supplied a million troops which pushed back the U.S. into south Korea. after three years of war it ended in a stalemate.
