Another beautiful classroom setting today. The purpose of the session was thinking about the importance of internationalism and the role we can play to disseminate the importance of it. International learning is happening in schools as we want our children to become global citizens. They need to learn flexibility, responsibility and being open minded. We do not necessarily need to be in a project to share and teach children skills about internationalism. Reading a book that is written by an author from a different country, looking at an atlas and locating different countries, looking at an artist and their work from another country. This all is part of the international work that we do, helping our children become better global citizens.
We are extremely fortunate as we are from a school in England where national and international work is highly valued. Teachers are given the opportunity to travel abroad and share ideas and practice.
Quote of the day: Global citizenship is going to happen - let's not wait for it to happen but be the driving force to ensure it happens in the right way!

The theme today related to how internationalisation enhances the quality of education for young people. It was good to reflect on our own practice in the UK and fInd out about the work carried out by others. It was interesting to discuss how easy it can be to use existing practice to extend to international work. Ideas can be very simple and easily transferred to all cultures and beliefs ; from using a shared object or photograph as inspiration. It is easy to see that the possibilities are endless and that they are so beneficial for our children . Making connections for children across curriculum areas and using a holistic approach in teaching has always been of key importance for me . I am now so motivated to extend my classroom work so much wider. Actually working and talking to people makes that all so much easier. We already have two exciting projects ready to go.

Thought for the day..........

“ From a tiny seed ( a simple idea), a tall tree can grow.”

Today's discussion was interesting for all of us, because we have spoken about how we can integrate internationalization into school curricula and policies. We have a very good opportunity not only to talk about partnerships between schools, but really to make project plans with colleagues. One of the ways to convince your school's society to become more international is to start a new project. I hope we’ll do it.

Our world is changing very quickly. Internationalisation is going to be bigger and bigger part of our life. So it is important to realize that also at the schools and when you are teaching childrens and teenagers. Internationalisation helps kids and teens to take part in the international world. That's why these international projeckts are important for schools. It was interresting to hear other teachers taughts and experiences about this. It has not allways to be a huge projeckt, you can also start with small things. The most important thing is being open minded and not prejudiced.
In our french lesson we learned about days of the week and restaurant vocalabury. It was so difficult to me again. The pronunciation is impossible for me, but it is good to know for example what to order in the restaurant :)

Today we discussed the different internationalization practices of schools. It was really good to hear what kind of activities the schools are doing. We made our own school internationality analysis and we found that we still have a lot to develop in our school. We have just started and we have a long way to go...
Internationalization education can be very small actions during a school day. With little actions our school could ne more open and more international.

Quote of the day: Internationalisation can be a small act.

Today we went to Ilet du Gosier to study about internationalisation. I found out that in our school we have a lot to do with internationalisation. I’m waiting forward to start international projects with schools around Europe and we have already started to plan one. International co-operation doesn’t have to be anything special, it’s everyday work with colleagues and students from different countries. It gives new aspects to students and enriches education. With these small steps we are getting closer to our aim to be global citizens.

Today our classroom was on beautiful Gosier island. Our French lesson was about useful restaurant words and days of the week. The main thema for the discussion was the internationalisation in our schools. It was interesting to hear about international works in different schools. Internationalisation is like a boat, when you hop in and start to go it is difficult to stop it. The boat can go short ways in your school and sometimes it goes longer ways to different countries. Along the way there are coming more and more new friends and more and more experiences, knowledge, joy into the boat. My boat has been going on for twenty years....my new friends, welcome to step abroad ⛵️
