I wanted to cover the general questions like who an artist is, what is art and stereotypes. "That’s what I mean, D. I wanna create something that lasts. I’m not talking graffiti writer fame, you know, I mean . . . wait—holdup —(into earpiece) what’s up, Selena?" (Coval 30). This quote has to do with the validation that these graffiti artists want from there art. They just want to be noticed and this is when I realized how difficult it is to put yourself out there and be recognized. It makes me question how can these people be successful and challenge themselves when no one else is watching? Their perseverance to keep going and pursuing their creations is incredible and inspiring.
