         <description><![CDATA[<div>George Read was a substantial part in the constitution because of his power. Read was a political leader making him an important asset to the Constitution. He was in Delaware's Assembly no less than 12 years, was Vice – President, and at one time her acting chief magistrate. He was the main reason Delaware adopted the Constitution. George was the author of Delaware's first Constitution in 1776. Along with creating the first edition of Delaware's&nbsp; laws.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

The population of slaves would be counted as three-fifths in total when apportioning Representatives, as well as Presidential electors and taxes.&nbsp;Which Read agreed with for he had slaves and agreed with the main points of the 3/5 compromise.</div>]]></description>
