The Titanic was as large as about three football fields( horizontally), and was 175 feet from the very bottom to the top of the funnels. It was 52,310 tons with everything and everyone, ad was 38,760 tons all by itself. It was so big, that they had to use 3 million ,1200 tons of rivets, just to hold it together. The Titanic was able to hold about 3,300 people, but they did not think about the consequences that came with it

Buoyancy is the upward force on a floating object. When and object is light, buoyancy will be greater than gravitational pull, then the object will float. If the buoyancy on an object was equal to the gravitational pull, then the object will be halfway in the water and halfway in the air. When the Titanic was sailing to New York, the buoyancy was greater than gravitational pull , making it float When the Titanic was filling up with water, the buoyancy was decreasing and the gravitational pull was increasing, making the poor ship sink.

When the Titanic set sail on April 10, it was lighter than the water, so it floated. And when the Titanic was filled with water, the ship was then heavier then the water, and sank slowly, as the water rushed in.

The Titanic's rivets were weaker than usual ships' rivets because most of the ships' rivets were made out of steel only, while the Titanic's rivets were made of steel and iron, making it weaker. So,that's half. But the real amount of people who got off the Titanic and onto the life boat is 1,178 people in total . When there is about 3,300 people on board, the Titanic should have at least 48 lifeboats to supply all, but some, might not make it, so about 2365 people will be saved, well, would.
