A French tourist was captured hiking in the Djurdjura mountains by ISIS members. After the kidnapping occured, the French tourist was beheaded due to disagreements between the Arabs and the French.

This is an example of how ethnic tensions ties into the modern world today. Due to ethnic tensions, there are many acts of violence ongoing in Algeria. ISIS's terrorist act's are linked to Islam beliefs. Because to the efforts of Muslims trying to convert other people into their own religion, it ends in violence. The other ethnicity, as a result, retaliates, creating ethnic tension between different ethnicities.
