We should not be afraid to ask for forgiveness, but rather
be close enough in relationship where we know we can turn to Him without fear of judgement. As long as we repent (express genuine regret or remorse for our sins), God will have mercy on us and forgive.

A common theme among these readings is that each is about God forgiving those who sin against Him or otherwise don’t believe in Him. As well as that only those who seek out the “repentance” may receive it, those who do not seek out God cannot be truly forgiven for their sins. Although most of the sins that are mentioned are sins acted out of ignorance, which shows how that they still must be recognized by the individual to be forgiven as well. Only with this in mind can a person have God recognize and absolve their sins.

A difference in belief around the theme comes from how people name God in their holy texts to describe their relationship with God. In the Bible and the Torah, they address God as LORD while in the Quran, he is referred to as Allah. I believe this is because of their relationship with God. Those who practice the Jewish and Christian faith believe that they are God's chosen people and because his name is so sacred, they use the word LORD to address him in their holy texts. In Islam, they mention God's name in the Quran around roughly 2698 times. Instead of using the word LORD, the Muslims use the name "Allah" along with his other names to describe him. These differences exist because of the difference in language and their relationship with Him.

Christians and Jews use the term God or Lord to refer to God, while Muslims refer to God as Allah because that is the Arabic form of God. Another difference is that in the Qur’an the reading focuses more on who and how sins are committed in order to repent and receive forgiveness while the New Testament and the Tanak are more general by just saying how God is kind and compassionate and how he will pardon sins if you ask for forgiveness.

Islamic understanding reveals Allah as all knowing and accepting. Christian understanding reveals God as ready to accept repentance when one offers it.
