Sculpture is a form of visual art that involves creating three-dimensional objects, often by carving, modeling, or casting materials such as stone, wood, metal, or clay. Sculptures can be representational or abstract, and may be created for a variety of purposes, including religious, commemorative, or purely aesthetic purposes. Sculptures can range in size from tiny miniatures to massive public monuments, and can be made using a wide range of techniques.

The process of creating a sculpture typically involves several stages. First, the artist may create a preliminary sketch or model of the sculpture using clay, wax, or other malleable materials. Once the design is finalized, the artist will often create a more detailed maquette, or small-scale model of the sculpture, before moving on to the actual creation of the full-size sculpture. This may involve carving, chiseling, or modeling the material, or casting it using molds and other techniques. Once the sculpture is complete, it may be finished with a variety of techniques, such as polishing, painting, or patination, to achieve the desired final effect. Sculptures can be created using traditional techniques passed down through generations, or they can incorporate cutting-edge technology to create new forms of expression.
