Reference the 1st case study, I think the role of a Primary Host Partner is to constantly look for sponsorships, conducting of initial assessment for development and if the applications are genuine before submitting a recommendation to respective fund organisations for approval.

The project is sustainable with the help from major funding partners which may include District Designated Funds and The Rotary Foundation's World Fund. Some of these organisations are usually trustees that review and approve humanitarian projects; and in this instance the storage tank system and hydraulic pump.

For Case Study 1 Clean Water, I think the primary host partner must be actively involved in the assessment, planning, recommending and implementing of all grants. Beside this, the primary host partner will also looked at the maintenance portion, whether does it cost a lot to maintain, and is it sustainable in the long run.

Case Study 1 Clean Water project is sustainable because the hydraulic ram pump and storage tank system does not require electricity, and can lasts at least 50 years with minimal maintenance. The total cost was only USD 40K to build and that's it.

With reference to the Case Study 1, the first point of contact to access the fund would be to get in touch with the Primary Host Partner.

First, since the allocated budget is USD40,000, the implementation of this project needs to kept within the allocated budget.

In addition, there should good governance practices in place to ensure that goals are timely met.

This project is sustainable as the funds are usually donated from Annual World Fund and donations made to the specific grants, endowments, earnings and term gifts.

In this instance, with the help of this grant, the community managed to secure a local contractor to install the necessary equipment needed, such as storage tank system and the hydraulic pump.

Case Study 1- I believe the roles of the primary host partner:
1) Is to constantly look for sponsorships and doing audit for the finance to make sure that the funds goes to the right place (3rd world country have usually be branded for its corruption)
2) Finding the right contractors to build and settle the maintenance of the clean water system.

The project will be sustainable with the help of the grants and working with the right contractors.
