I am writing to express my disappointment with the council’s recent decision to stop providing discounted bus travel for young people under the age of 18. I strongly believe that this decision will negatively impact teenagers and the environment.

Firstly, cheap bus fares allow teenagers to travel independently to school, college, and extracurricular activities. Most teenagers rely on public transport to reach their destinations as they do not have access to a car.

Secondly, encouraging teenagers to use public transport instead of private cars helps reduce pollution and traffic congestion.

I understand that it is expensive for the council to provide discounted fares for all young people. However, this investment plays a crucial role in improving both the education system and the environmental quality of the town.

Overall, I strongly request the council to review this decision, otherwise it will have a negative effect on young people’s academic performance and the environment.
