- Her full name is Ramona Victoria Epifania Ocampo
- She was born into a very wealthy, aristocratic family
- A very important influence in Victoria's life was her little sister, Angelica Ocampo
- Because of her parentage, Victoria was never expected to work, even though she dreamed of becoming an actress
- Ocampo defied her "fate" of becoming a passive and unassertive wife, but she was still made to marry Monaco Estrada in 1912
- In 1831, Victoria founded the famous magazine Sur, which would feature the works of some of the most renowned authors of the 20th century. According to Argentina Excepcion, Sur became "the most important literary magazine in Latin America."

- On May 8, 1953, police broke into Victoria's house as arrest her as a 'political prisoner'. However, she was released a month later on June 2.
