Dr. Ken Robinson argues that children are navigating an unprecedented level of stimulation, primarily due to technology and media, which has led to a concerning rise in ADHD diagnoses. This increase coincides with the expansion of standardized testing, suggesting that the pressures of a rigid educational model may be mislabeling natural variations in attention and engagement as disorders.

He critiques traditional education systems for their focus on standardized testing, conformity, and individual achievement, arguing that these methods restrict creativity and fail to prepare students for modern everyday challenges. Instead, Robinson advocates for environments that encourage individuals to approach problems from multiple perspectives and come up with several solutions.
