Comprehensive School Counseling Program- is where it is a program that in turn helps students develop academically, personally, and personally. This is important because we need to be able to help the student succeed.

ASCA Mindset and Behaviors is where there is a set of standards that are in place to describe the skills, attitude, and knowledge that the students need in order to succeed when moving forward with there either academically or career. This is important because the students need to know that they have been given the skills and tools needed in order to be their best in the world after school.

ASCA Ethical Standards for School Counselors- This is where we have to abide by the ethical standards in practice so that everyone is getting the right treatment and this set guidelines for us to follow. This is important because we need to know when to set boundaries with students.

ASCA School Counselor Professional Standards and Competencies- is where the guidelines that school counselors follow which have knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are necessary to implement the program effetely. This is important because we need to make sure we are not hurting the student when we are trying to help them.

School Counseling Indirect Services- services that are provide for students with others as collaborations. This is important because you can work with others in order to help the student and you can relationships with them.

School Counseling Scope of Practice- is where there are activities for the students that are helping them academically, career. and social. This is important because we can help them develop those skills.

Academic Development- Where we help them develop the skills academically to succeed. This is important because we they to be able to succeed academically and get those skills.

Career Development- help them with the skills necessary to develop in order for them to be successful in any career that they do. This is important because they need to be successful at what career that they chose to do.

Social/Emotional Development- the student need to be able to interact with others in their world and do it correctly, they also need to be able to understand their emotions and how to express them. This is important because they need to be able to interact with others and understand why they are feeling what they are feeling and how to express that.

Program Assessment- to determine weather a program is effective and if they can improve it.

Annual Results Reports- it evaluates weather the program is effective and them sees where to improve it.

School Counselor Assessment and Appraisal- where the counselor evaluates themselves and where they can set future goals.

Lesson Plan

I choose the High School lesson plan of social emotional learning skills. It matched the lesson topic by them learning to be aware of themselves and how to express that. The pre and post assignments do algin with the mindsets, they could be more in depth with how they feel about yourself. The material did go with the mindsets/ behavior. It asked them about how they feel and to rate that on a scale. I think that the timing needed to be very on time because you asked them before then after you needed to make sure enough time passed in order to ask them. I would not just focus on one age group but different groups and in more then one school.
