I first looked at drawing tablets and compared the overall performance and other specifications with a couple brands I was interested in. After I selected one I was interested in. I started looking into customer reviews and YouTube reviews and comparison videos to see what the benefits of a drawing tablet has over an Ipad. After more research into them I soon settled on an Ipad, due to it having better performance and access to better applications that work better for what I want to do. I compared the prices from different retailers to find one that would fit within my price range.

E.A

I would rather take a moment and spend time research what I need for my study that I can use longer term. There are so many laptop brands and internet services that is very hard to choose. I been visiting from shop to shop. Reaching out every broadbands customer service on the website. And also I been comparing about the price, product quality, fast connection and read some reviews that help me to decide. I take notice as well on those good feedbacks and good recommendation for the product.
I can say that the HP laptop brand and Activ8me internet connection still the best option.

LM

buying a heater that can be put onto the wall.

I spent a few days, going over the internet about finding out what brands had the best kind of heaters that would not use to much power to keep running. At first I just wanted something that was not going to cost me a arm and a leg. But as I went on looking in the shops and online I found that most of the cheap one's used more watts then a more expensive heater. which would of cost me more in the long run. I then went on looking at the type's of heater's that I wanted and I wanted one that could be put onto my wall to save space in the room, But in looking at that they just went up in price. so I sat down one day and went over the cost of buying a cheap heater that would take up more room and use more watts and compared that to the not so cheap heater that would not take up more space and use less watts over time. And came to the choice that it was smarter to buy the more expensive heater that would use less watts over the year. because in the long run i am saving more money in power then I would of by just getting the cheaper heater.

-AW

I was looking for a laptop that I could use use for both study and gaming purposes. I don't have a lot of study space in my home so the computer needed to be small enough to fit comfortably on my desk as well as needing a big enough screen so during my spare time I have a wide enough screen to get into my games (aka sims 4). Of course this computer also needed to be ergonomic since I would be both studying and gaming from home. My first means of action was a quick google search "Best computers for study and gaming" and up popped a wide range of computers. I was intrigued by a particular store in the city that had a large range of computers as well as very affordable pricing. So the next day I of course went in to the store, assessed each screen, keyboard, ram space, GB and what was best value for price. I of course asked for the sales mans professional opinion and ended up taking home a DELL Inspiron 15 3000. I've had it for a year now and it's been fantastic.
- OJ

I recently came to the conclusion that the car I had at the time was a financial liability. I decided I needed to sell it and downgrade to a more affordable car. I first researched the market by looking through ads on Gumtree and FB marketplace. This helped me to understand what was on offer and what I could realistically afford. Once I had worked this out, I read reviews on various car models and their performance to help me decide which option would be best for my circumstances. I wanted a car that was fuel efficient, comfortable and wouldn't cost a fortune when it came to repairs. This process led me to buying my new car Bartholomew, who is a 2000 Toyota Corolla conquest. It had everything I wanted and needed at a very affordable price.
-Quinn

In making this decision I had to collect and analyse data about which services provide the highest quality of audio files for the appropriate service fee from users whilst also paying a suitable amount to the creators of the music I would be streaming. While I was analysing the financial information of the main choices for streaming services, I realised I also needed to ensure the user interface was something easily-navigable and fairly instinctual. I made my decision after deliberation and I am now happy with the service that is being provided.
-KC

When buying my first car, it took a lot longer then expected as I had to do a lot of research into it. I didn’t want to buy a crappy car that was going to die on me in a week. I researched the most reliable cars manufactured between 1999 and 2006 and also spoke with a second hand car salesperson and I found that Toyota and Honda were the most reliable cars for me, however I had a low budget. I had a look at some of the other options on FB and Gumtree, I then and found a Kia that I really loved the look of, so I looked at a lot of different websites and reviews on this particular model and ended up going against the advice given to me as I found that this car had been maintained very well and came with a complete service history. Three years later I still have it and it’s treating me very well!
-C.M

It was the peak of COVID in 2020 and we had spent hours upon hours of our time researching around different suburbs and the average selling price between 2018-2020. We came to 3 suburbs that fit our needs and our price range. We picked 1 house from each suburb that we felt stood out pricewise but landed the house we ended up buying stood out to us most. the average selling price in the area was high $500k but this house was in the $400s. It made us curious. So when we submitted our offer of course we got a building inspection done. Nothing came back and we had our first home for an exceptional price. Months of research and waiting paid off.
CB

I also looked at all the phone plans companies had to offer. Which offered the data amount I needed, best service etc all for the price that best fit my budget. I also looked into if it was cheaper to buy a phone outright and a sim separately or to just get a phone on a plan. The former option came out a lot cheaper in the long run no matter which phone I ended up choosing

When turns out the best research and what eventually ended up happening was, seeing a dietician and general gp getting advice more tailored to my body size. As for the excersize side of it the research i needed was to simply just approach my local gym get a suggestion as to what machine to start with. TLDR: Listen to your local services and you can learn a surprising amount
S.L

I really enjoy learning new words and as a child read the dictionary multiple times. But given the sheer number of words, I can never remember them all. So I regularly google words to help me figure out if I am using the right words to ensure I ascribe words correctly to my writings. If sometimes the word I am thinking of using is incorrect then I will research a way to describe usually, a particular action but sometimes also colloquial language. By doing this I constantly and consistently improve my linguistic intelligence which is useful in a number of ways.

I analyzed by collecting reviews from other people who are sought out to achieve or have achieved the same goals as myself with the help of a personal trainer, as well as asking logical questions such as "How and when can I fit this into my schedule each week?" I analyzed all of the data I collected and my research on personal trainers in my area and concluded by choosing a PT that specialized in what I was looking for, who was also within my budget, area and what their availability was each week to fit in with my schedule.
-JK

I recently looked into moving from the share house I am currently in. I had to search online for a one bedroom place that was decent and what prices were being asked per week for these places. I took into consideration that I do not spend much time at home due to constant sleep over shifts at work, so would it be worth living on my own for double the rent. I then had to decide whether I could afford to change my living situation as sharing a house is much cheaper. I drew out a budget, wrote a pros and cons list. Decided that due to my lifestyle, budget and current rental prices, I am best to stay where I am!

EC

I need comfortable fitting earbuds with very loud volume (i struggle with sounds of 'everyday situations' such as the sounds of cars, traffic lights and busy streets) so i can cut out any sounds that im sensitive too. However, im not on a large income so buying a good pair of headphones thats not too pricey is where i research and analyze my options. Finding an in budget price that has good quality sound and quality material. I had been looking at some cheap very loud but bad quality sound earphones when another had caught my eye. Almost double the price and the volume was quieter however the material and sound quality was much better.

The price of the second pair of earphones was just out of my comfortable range of spending.

After looking through reviews of both pairs of earphones aswell as talking to some of the employees i decided to get the more expensive yet better quality ones. Whilst the volume is a little quieter the sound quality was much better and with the better material it would long outlive the other pair. I decided them as this would suit my needs best.

E.W

There were many things I had to consider when adopting my two 7 week old rabbits. For example, I had to think about what purchases had to be made prior to bringing them home. like, Water/food bowls, rabbit food, an indoor cage and and outdoor hutch and wooden toys for their teeth. I also had to consider the bills I would have to pay for their vet trips to do frequent nail clippings and their vaccinations/being desexed.

From there I used my most recent paychecks to collect data on how much money I would be spending on them fortnightly and how much I would need to spend before they came home. By looking at my paycheck I could get a visual of how much money would be going towards my other bills and savings and then from there I could see how much I had spare and if it was enough to properly supply for two rabbits.

In the end, my paycheck proved that a had more than enough to provide for the two, and now two weeks later they are living with me in their new home. Obviously it's early days, and I'm still considering future purchases that need to be made as they grow bigger with age, but as for now Bruno and Gus are happier than ever (I just have to get them to stop chewing on the coffee table!) 🤣❤

S.A :)

There is a housing crisis here currently and rental properties are almost impossible to find.

We asked friends who had purchased homes how much their re-payments were and quickly realised that home loan re-payments were a very similar to, and sometimes cheaper than renting. My in-laws helped and offered to be our guarantor and we researched online to find a suitable broker.

Alongside our broker, we collected information regarding our wages, time in our positions at work and costs of living in order to assess if we were able to get a home loan for the property.

Finally, our loan application was accepted and we purchased our first home.

KG

I wanted to take out Private health insurance so I first compiled a list of services I wanted covered and roughly the amount of cover i would like per year. I then googled searched which companies policies covered the services I required, downloaded the individual policy covers to compare the yearly benefit amounts and also wrote down the fortnightly cost and waiting periods. After gathering all this information I was able to get the right cover for myself at the best price possible by comparing the market before committing to purchase.
- Em

Something peculiar happened to me one day while living in the dusty town of Gol Gol, NSW. Looking outside my window I was faced with a bird, dazled in green, presenting blue cheeks, nose crowned with red and the undeniable beak of a parrot.

The issue was there weren't green rosellas in NSW, from my research every source claimed the fact that they were only found in Tasmania. Shocked and confused I dug deeper, and deeper, and...deeper. Until I was convinced I had made a scientific discovery.

It was only until I picked up a book on Australian birds, driven with my previous curiousity, that I found myself face to face with informational pages on Rosellas once again. It was also then when I came face to face with a juvenile crimson rosella, dazled in green, presenting blue cheeks, nose crowned with red and the undeniable beak of a parrot.

"Well that answers that," Was my defeated response, closing the book. Perhaps I wasn't the next person to provide an avian breakthrough but at least research provided me an answer I so desperately wanted.

- Finch

New Ride-On Mower

"Better mow the lawns again before it rains again."
Up to the shed I went to grab the mower, thinking the whole way, I bet this bloody thing won't start! Sure enough, turn the key on the old John Deere.....nothing. "That's it I've had it." Back down to the house and jump on the laptop. What do I get and how much do I spend?
I have had the John Deere ride-on for 10 year and has been reliable for 7 years. To spend $7000 on a mower you would think you would get more than 7 good years out of it, even though it has done one hell of a lot of work in 10 years. I couldn't justify spending that sort of money again, and didn't have it to spend.
my friend had recently purchased a new Husqvarna ride-on and was very impressed with it. I jumped on the website and had a look at the models available, the prices and availability compared to what I could get if I went with John Deere again. I read some reviews and forums on the Husqvarna, and as quit impressed. Even though the cutting deck on the Husqvarna was only 42inch compared to 48inch on the John Deere, the motor had the same horsepower. Spare parts were cheaper form the Husqvarna dealer and they were closer to were I live.
The next day I went into the Husqvarna dealer and got a quote, and they had the model that I wanted in stock. This surprised me, as Covid-19 had slowed the supply chain for most retail businesses. I ended up buying the model I wanted for $5,200. I ended up getting a small discount as I had purchased a new chain was from Husqvarna only the month before. I am very please with the mower and best of all it starts every time without fail!!

-ps

I took the opportunity to start researching what I was looking for in a new mattress.
What level of firmness we wanted, what size mattress do we want, does it fit the existing base we have, do we want a new base, how much are we will to spend?
As we were discussing and researching, I discovered my work had an expo for some of the mattresses used within the company and were offering large discounts on new beds. We looked at them and picked the one we liked the most.
Hopefully in a few weeks when we get the delivery, it will be a great decision.

R.M.

Our oven died after 15 years. I like to bake, and regularly cook for 8-15 or more people so the oven is an important tool in our house.
I visited several stores selling ovens to get an idea of what was available, cost, and designs and had many discussions with salespeople about how often I use the oven, what I cook in it, and what my budget was.
I really, REALLY wanted a big sexy red retro styled stove, with 6 gas burners, and two ovens. But after writing a list of needs, pros and cons, I realised that I couldn't justify (or afford) the $15k stove, as well as the kitchen remodelling required to make it fit in our space... back to the drawing board and the lists.
I'd also realised that an oven at floor level wasn't practical, given my dodgy knees and inability to squat ( I really didn't want to drop heavy trays of roasts or cakes on the floor!).
So I realised I needed a wall oven that would fit within the existing space.
I read up a bit on steam ovens and the benefits for baking (SUPER CRUSTY BREAD!!!!) and knew I wanted a steam function.
Ultimately it came down to price and I found a suitable steam oven in my price range. Waited 6 weeks for delivery. Used it for 6 weeks and now the bloody thing is giving me an error message saying the door is not shut, and I can not use it. I'm still waiting for the repairer to call me back. I really should have paid more attention to the reviews of customer service!
CG

late 2020 i had a problem, too many guitars that at this point in time I was starting to play less and less. My partner suggested that i get rid of them but I have got too much personal attachment to some of them to just sell them, so I did what any sane borderline musician would do, I decided to buy a brand new guitar. Now, I had 4 guitars at this point but they were all knock off brands so i decided i wanted some nicer.

First thing to do was to browse the local music stores to see what they offer, see what i like mostly on a visual level. Then I went into the more technical side of things that I do not fully understand but I trust the professionals that I listened to.

Checked with my friends which was better between 2 different Ibanez guitars, and after a long discussion mostly about price points and visuals I decided to go with the one of the Artcore series Ibanez's.

Every since buying my new guitar I practise almost daily and am far and away the best I have ever been skill wise in the 10 years I have been playing, my conclusion is always buy expensive guitars

Before attempting to enter an already over-stimulating environment covered in big, loud advertisements trying to fool my animal brain into purchasing every snack under the sun under the false pretense it will provide me with every ounce of sustenance I could ever need, I take the time to sift through a variety of different food blogs and dietary information sites to determine my best options in ingredients and meals to provide my body with the best nourishment possible. I then take these options and use my existing knowledge of food prices and Woolworths' online catalogue to determine which meals I will be able to make that will best serve my body and mind for the lowest price realistically possible. I then write myself a list of the ingredients I will need to purchase in order to minimize as much room for error (or in this case low-key bankruptcy) as possible once I enter anxiety central (grocery store) and trot my hungry tum down to the shops to finally get cooking.

Recently my microwave died, and as full time uni student and a part-time worker with frankly no time management skills meant I had to think of how i was going to defrost my meat in my nightly dinners, as food is always a last thought and a quick defrosting method was needed. The conclusion or in this case, solution, was i checked to see if a freezer bag would melt in a sink of boiling hot water (it didn't) so i then decided that i would store my meat in said bags and essentially defrosting my meat in boiling hot water.
