The monkey king then fights through everyone to show them that he has more power than anyone.
The guard that asked the monkey king to leave was feeling jolly and happy before the monkey king came and wrecked his face. The monkey king was feeling insulted because the guard made fun of him for being a monkey.
I think the guard learned not to underestimate somebody by how they look or act. I think the monkey king learned that sometimes you have to show people what you can do.

It seamed as if the three characters were surprised when they each revealed them selves. 
At the end of the book the three characters learned to just be yourself and don't judge a book by it's cover.
