In other words, abortion is seen as a private matter and Americans have a right to choose on this matter.

This was overturned in the 2022 decision that gave power back to the states on this issue.

Wade was upheld and the court ruled that Americans have a right to abortion / state governments can only make limited restrictions.

One major difference between this case and Roe v. Wade is that it changed the wording so that restrictions can be made not based on trimester but based on viability.
