Each day is different as if there are interesting news like the new Airfare law starting July 15^th stating passengers will have new rights when boarding on airplanes. After my shower, I drive to the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort & Spa, where my full 15 minutes ride is driving up the Bear Mountain. During the 15 minute drive I can see wildlife, that unfortunately, I am not able to take a picture of due to driving laws. However, on sunny days I am still able to see Mount Baker with snow from a large distance.

Each year they hold a conference in which they give out “Victoria Passports” that allows Hospitality people to enjoy several Victoria Tourism attractions for free. Although I was not able to make it to the conference, I am in current communication with a VGSN representative for me to be part of the VGSN community so I too can freely enjoy Victoria’s most popular tourist attractions.

Once, I sign out I drive back home usually past midnight, however, on my days off I like to experience the outdoors Victoria offers. For instance, a couple of weeks back my partner and I decided to go downtown and enjoy a fair near Government Street. 

After joining the striking fair, I walked around Government Street and stopped at almost all restaurants, stores, bars, and retail stores. The purpose of this was for me to familiarize myself with Victoria and if a guest at The Westin Bear Mountain one day asks me about Downtown Victoria, I will be ready to present them with an analyzed answer.

That allows me to begin a new day with endless possibilities, and if the day does not go as planned that is okay because tomorrow is a completely new day. With that said, as an intern Banquet Server my role is to ensure each event and conference is to standard. Due to my front-end role, it is my responsibility that each event is successful and achieves or surpasses expectations.

My role is that of a Banquet server so I take myself to the second floor where the meeting rooms are as well as the Front Desk. I arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than scheduled to ensure I have enough time to read the Banquet Event Order and catch up on any news coming from the Sales department as they are the ones who bring the events to us.
