         <title>The work is very much like assessment of student learning, faculty need to see the value and impact. When faculty see that, they commit to the work and become advocates. Those advocates then convince other faculty through evidence and experience.</title>

From experience, I haven't seen anything resembling robust professional development and/or training for faculty before they're allowed to teach. Professional development that centered teaching or caring about student experience at all would be a big step forward.</div>]]></description>

There is an opportunity for broad public recognition of this work including by the faculty who are some times part of the problem. The incentive structure promotes continuous improvement as institutions move from Bronze to Silver to Gold SEA Change awards. Recognition is "time limited" in that awards are good for 5 years and required re-applying to remain or advance to the next level. Assessment work is "law attentive."</div>]]></description>
