With deconstructionists and feminists setting the ground concept of gender and sexual identity, queer studies started to arise to bring more insight on the minorities. Thanks to the growth of feminism, queer studies have been able to rethink feminism and later revolutionize it into new methods in categorizing genders into a more broader spectrum to fit more under just gay or lesbian labels. As queer studies can include gay or lesbian studies, it also mentions about how to seriously and respectfully treat queer acts, life, and thought in order to go beyond binary opposites that targets a bigger group.
