The giant panda or just the panda, from the bears family, a large, endangered bear species with black spots on some parts of its white coat. China's giant pandas are one of the most endangered animal species in the world.

How should we protect the pandas?

The giant pandas lives in bamboo forests in China's Yangtze Basin. This Basin is the one ofthe richest regions in the world in terms of biodiversity. Many endangered animal and plant species live there. In this respect, the Yangtze Basin must be protected. The number of pandas living in the natural environment in China is only around 1000. The destruction of bamboo forests in Chine also threatens pandas lives. WWF (World Wild Fund for Nature), which received a call from the Chinese government, has been carrying out important studies on the protection of pandas since 1980. To date, 50 naturel deserves have been created and pandas have been protected.

The panda sanctuary, which contains one third of the world's giant pandas in the mointains of the China, has been listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO, the United Nations cultural affairs organization., like The Pyramids or the Great Wall. The giant panda shelter, located in a mountanious area of more than 9 thousand square kilometers in China's Shichuan province, is now entitled to international assistance thanks to its new status. About 100 giant pandas also live in the conservation trail zoos.
