         <description><![CDATA[<div>Presidency of the Council of the EU is held by a member state to balance and chair the meetings of the Council. <br>The presidency of the Council of the EU rotates between all the member states. The duration of presidency period is six months, member states start their term in either January or July. <br><br></div><div>]Every member state forms their priorities for the half-year period that they chair the Council of the EU. In addition, three consecutive presidencies collaborate for 18-month period to execute common long-term priorities within their separate presidencies.
